It's only a 16 foot door. (optical illusion)
But I tell you what.. before you go to a huge door, think about this:
My garage is heated and insulated. I don't like to be cold. I open up that 16 foot door for 30 seconds to pull a car in or out, and almost ALL my heat is gone.

I kinda wish I had 2 smaller doors. (At least in the winter) :gt:

But on the bright side... if I fire an engine up in there, it only takes about 30 seconds to get rid of all the fumes if I open up the door.

    Keith,

Didn't you show us pix of that awhile back when the foundation was staked out. I think you told us then that it was gonna be a Buick storage/woodshop kinda deal, and as I recall the trailer was even sitting there, lol. If so your moving along nicely. If not sorry for the confusion...............

Wow, wish I had a garage right now. I have a 8' x 16' work shop with a car port attached to it. I could tear it down and build a garage but then I would have no money to finish my car.

buickdav, yup thats the same foundation as the earlier pic. Now I`m out of cash:ball: I`m hoping to get it sided within 2 months. Next is insulation, heat, drywall, etc. All I see is dollor signs. But the larger area is my cabinet shop,so I need it done to make the money:Do No: . I guess you have to spend money to make money:rolleyes: At least the Mrs gets to park in the front garage this winter, and all of my junk is out of view:Brow:

A 32 by 50 ft pole barn....built for my 5 cars. Which gave me lots of extra room..... until.... I bought a few more cars....now it's packed full, with barely any room to work!! There's 8 stuffed in there now...I really don't want an addition, so I'm considering putting up a green house to use for storage.

I own 35 acres just north of Clarion, PA where most of my family is from (its about 85 miles from the house in Pittsburgh though). Of the 35 acres about 3 are not wooded.

February 2002 I had a stone road built by a local guy from the hardtop township road back to the building site (about 1200'). I then started to put up a 24' X 40' pole barn. I decided it was too small so I added a 12' addition to the back. Now its 36' X 40'. In the original part, the ceiling is 10'. In the addition the lowest point is about 5 1/2' because I wanted to keep the pitch of the roof at least 4 12. I don't have concrete yet (or garage doors) so the ceiling is a bit higher now. I have a gas well so the floor will be heated (keep room temp at 50* or so). I intend to put in a woodburner to warm it up quick whenever I'm up there. I can fit 4 cars in the original 24 X 40 part.

In addition to the cars in my sig I have a 67 sportwagon, a 76 electra (future derby car), a 72 GS 350 and a 71 skylark. There is also a parts truck for the woods hoopie and a 78 Merc wagon that will soon be giving up its 460 and 9" rear. My cousin has a 79 F-150 extended cab, and a 89 F-150 there.

I'm wasting money on two 10X20 and one 10X30 storage spaces now. The 10X20s are $170 a month, it's nuts. Am considering buying a bankrupt repair shop nearby if I can find one cheap enough to offset the storage cost. Plenty to choose from.

Then put a mechanic in there to do work on his own, and any rent is upside. Slowly migrating towards my retirement owning a speed shop.

Yeh, I'm paying $65 a month for a 5x10 to store parts in until I put the car back together. I hate writing that check every month but I have nowhere else to put the stuff.

    $65/mo for a 5x10 for only parts?
I'd stick them under my bed, on top of the fridge, under the kitchen table, behind the couch.. etc...
Thats $65/mo that could be buying Buick parts!
    :gt:

ya might be a redneck...... if your wife has ever had to say : "honey, can you move this transmission? I need to do the dishes!"
