I see guys with upwards of 4 Buicks, and I think to myself, where do they go! i guess you guys must have huge ass garages :TU: unfortunately, my parents make me put the buick outside. (besides, its too long for the garage  )
First I moved out into the sticks outside of the city so I could have a big building. 9 cars fit inside my building. I also have an oversized 3 car garage up front with a small 3 bedroom house attached to it. For extended projects my brother owns a self storage warehouse a couple hours away where most of the long term dilapidated GS cars end up. Plus I like to leave a few in the backyard just so I can see em from the breakfast table.
When all my kids left home, I moved into a smaller house with bigger barns! I have a two car garage attached to the house, A20 X 30 work shop and a 30 X 48 pole barn. That leaves only one car and the boat outside. :beer :beer o No: o No:
Dad and I share a 6080 sq ft metal building. It was a business where they stored pier drilling equipment. Has 4 big truck doors, fenced in yard, gas tank. Amazing how the # of cars = amount of space available exactly! Had to fill it with parts cars! We were lucky to find this space, and I consider myself extremely lucky to have a cool father who understands. (except when I keep a parts car too long!)
2 in a 3-car garage(one needs two bays. :grin, 1 in the driveway or street, 1 on long-term loan to a friend, 1 at Mom's, 1 in a storage unit, 2 trailers at ex-in-laws, 3 in a field (future resto, just a shell, and 2 are its parts cars)
We've got 3 cars in a 2 car garage (CJ across the back, cherokee and aspire parked normally) and the Delta is parked in my grandmother's basement. that's right.
I only have a 24x32 garage currently so I rent a stall at the local ministorage and swap either the cornbinder or the buick out there. This spring I am going to build an attached 24x32(with 10x10 doors for the boat) on my house with a loft(gameroom).
I have a 24x32 also, and I've managed to squeeze all three 67's in it after a serious cleaning and re-organizing this weekend. The 70 and 71 will have to sit out this winter in the driveway so I can get in a nice warm 67 to drive to work in the morning. Can you believe there's also 2 engines on stands, 2 bare 455 blocks, 4 sets of heads, 3 trannies, 2 rear ends, and boxes upon boxes of other crap in there! As the message above my avatar says... I need a bigger garage!! :gt: And before you ask.. YES, thats a BBC on the stand over by my tubbed car. Don't worry, it's not going in any of my Buicks.
Chevy All that room, the Buicks crammed in gotta love it. I still see room for a BBC w alum. heads. Uh Oh:grin: Later John
I have a pretty decent sized driveway, so there's plenty of room outside for the 70 and 71, allthough I wish I could keep them out of the snow.
Just for the fun Yes, I admit I am a also a die hard Chevy Fan. I think you ment to say its not mine, or for sale. I am looking for one of those, even if it just sits on the stand:grin: Having fun always John
LOL John  Actually... quite a few months ago I spilled the beans here about the history of that engine and why I have it. Long story short... It was built by a friend to put a 10.0 SBC Nova in the 9's. He went to drop it in the car and ran into "fit problems" and he didn't want to cut the car up at all. I bought it in a moment of weakness to drop in my 67 tubbed project. The deal was just too sweet to pass up. But I never had the heart to put it in. It just wouldn't be right. I do need to try to get rid of it. It's just going to rot in my garage if I don't. I prime it and spin it all the time, but it really needs to get put to use. It's a hell of an engine. Roller cam (Crane 708), roller rockers, alum heads and intake, everything is ported and what-not. It has a fresh TH400 from Coan that goes with it. (No torque converter though) Someday I'll actively try to sell it, but frankly I just haven't had the time or will to mess with it. It's not costing me anything by sitting there.
Greg and I rent a 24 x 50 comercial shop. It has a 12 x 14 overhead door, 16 foot total interior height. Right now we are storing Greg's Jeep, his dually, and a parts car for our older brother not to mention all my household stuff (furniture, washer, dryer, etc,etc,etc.......)
Rick - Is that garage door three cars wide? Or does it just look that way in the pic? Where'd you find a door that big? I have two 8 footers now. I like the look of the double doors, but can't get my car trailer in or even my pickup cuz the mirrors are too wide. I'm doing a new roof on the garage this spring and would like to go to an 18 foot door at the same time. I've only been able to find 16 footers in residential doors though. Switch to commercial, and they're steel. Too heavy for the opener style I want to use. o No:
