Like Adam said, it's BIG, RIDES, has nearly 300K miles and still going strong. And I also think the '71's have the best lines. Don't have a 455 in there yet, but it will! That, and it's my first car, now pretty much a family icon. Paid $1285 cash in 1984. The first owner was the trans. mechanic at the Dealership, so I've got the complete history from day one!
Firstly, I think the 65-72 Skylark/GS is the best body styling GM has ever produced. Favorite year... still 67 66's are close, but I don't like the front and rear end changes, nor do I like single reservoir master cylinders. (had a bad experience in my 63 Impala a long time ago) The 67 GS grille is still the best looking musclecar grille I've ever seen. (Too bad it's flimsy plastic) 67's have a vent window (but not as cool as the "crank out" vent windows like our 71 POST car has) :Brow: 67's have plenty of chrome on the dash! The dimmer switch is where it belongs (on the floor) And you gott love those sail panels (fins) behind the back window! What I don't like about my 67's........ The glove box button. I never understood why they would use a button you have to push IN to open the glovebox door that opens OUT. 5 times out of 10, the glovebox doesn't open right. (True for all four 67's I've owned) ou:
