I finished up my LS swap last night. Maiden voyage today for a safety inspection so I can cruise this weekend…finally
Finally got around to cutting doors for speakers. Started making plywood filler pieces to 'flatten' the door contour.
Finished replacing the Moog offset control arm shafts with the stock ones. Only required 1 new bushing per side. Next we'll check the alignment.
I put the passenger window up on my GN. Waiting on a new motor. Current original motor runs the window down just fine, but will only put it up 1" to 1-1/2" every hour, or maybe 1/16" to 1/8" at a time every 5 minutes while driving. In between the 1/16"-1/8" moves it is dead. I absentmindedly put it all the way down Friday night, then spent Saturday going out to the car evey hour or two to put the window up another inch. Finished at 9:00 PM shortly before it rained. So yeah, I put the window up.
Bought parts for a Buick that hasn't even got here yet. (Don't tell my wife) also sold the 1941 Buick. Normally you could say I took one heck of a haircut on it but well...I'm bald already
Well that was a PIA. Trim installed. Didn’t quite fit as good in the curve since one quarter is new. Either way original stainless shined up and installed to the best of my abilities. First time for everything. After market rear window installed a few weeks back.
I finally had a chance to install the refurbished original CT master cylinder I had White Post Restorations in VA do late last year.
Someone posted these photos of your car on Facebook this weekend after they spotted it at the car show. I figured it was your car when I noticed the cool tires.
I got the Factory Stock '73 out of storage yesterday. Started on the first crank after a year. (Thanks Luis.) Charging the battery right now. Off to Beaver Springs Friday for the Buick races. I
Tonight I started working on the front end alignment and got the left side done. This is actually pretty fun to see how the shim arrangements make changes to the caster and camber readings. To start, I had to string it to get the front wheels straight (and steering wheel). Somehow I miss calculated the distance between the old and new tie rod ends, and the right front wheel was way toed out. This and getting the markings on the floor set up consumed a lot of time. There is still a clicking noise somewhere in the lower ball joint areas whenever the wheels are turned a bit. I'll deal with that when I get the alignment done. I think something is rubbing the lower control arm end (like the brake backing plate).
