The TKX is in and bolted up, but I'm done for the day. I'll need to replace the speedometer cable since it goes on the drivers side on this trans. The T10 was on the passenger side. While I was under there, I noticed some cracks on the short rubber fuel line along the frame. That will be replaced also. Ken
Finally got the rear compressor mount installed. I wound up modifying two of the four bolt holes in the bracket, and hand-filing about 1/8" off the manifold boss for the bracket. Now to mount the carburetor!
Took the GS400 to meet some good friends for dinner tonight. Fired right up and ran as good as it has been!
I took @efogs400 's old car to the its first show of the year. It was a small fund raiser show. It was overcast and in the 40's, and luckily the rain held off. The next show is April 18th at Bass Pro Shops in Foxboro, MA. Hope to see the local membership there.
Pulled the engine and trans out of the Skylark to rebuild the th350 trans, and go thru the engine. Engine was rebuilt about 5 years and not that many miles ago. Have an oil leak somewhere, and the main reason is it bent a pushrod. Now to figure out why it happened.
Now imagine that same 67 gs black on black with a 4 speed. That car is for sale cheap in cars for sale and is a solid project. It perplexes me that the general population prefers the 67 Chevelle over the Buick. I think the Buick is undervalued and delivers better than the Chevy.
Pretty much the car I am building right now. I reckon I will have twice than by the time I finish. Sigh.
I think the reason the general population prefers the Chevelle over the Buick is that there were a billion of those cheap Chevy's built. Even if half the ones you saw were 6cyl three on the tree, they were everywhere to remind you of chevy. Every family had some kind of Chevy back in the day, but around Portland, not a lot of fancy cars. I do remember riding my bike by a boat tail buick for the first time wondering what the hell?
Picked up my short block from Gambles High Performance Machine today. Stage 2 SE's bolting on soon. Thanks Cody!
Yesterday I took the Skylark out on the road to properly seat the rings on the 482 Stage 2. Runs great so far. Fun times!
