I recently joined the GSCA, I asked for, and thought they would send me A pair or at least one window decal. For 40.00, I didn't get a membership card, I did get a number, I got 3 back issues of the GS Xtra. I belong to like 6 clubs, this is the most I've ever spent on dues! Anyways, where can I get the Go fast with class window decal with the cat, or the old Gus decal? Where do you get them? Anybody have them that can sell me a couple? I think Michael (racebuicks) is out of them. Please PM if you know. Thanks!!!!!!

    WOW :eek2:
They don't even give you a decal anymore?

Right, NO DECAL, no pride! How can you promote the club? They Did throw a couple K + N decals in, and a couple of Wildcat Engine rebuilding decals. I think Richard Lassiter (the founder of GSCA) owns that company, but...no GSCA decal(s) at all! I don't mind supporting his biz and race car, but for 40.00 they should be in the envelope, I'm a brand new member, and I asked for them. I don't even know where you can buy them, and I'm not going to Bowling Green to get them!

I noticed that! Maybe they should call it the GNCA? Their website is dead, also.

Jim, can you honestly say that anything any of the posters said in this thread is not true?

I can say what you posted is not needed. Why do you feel the need to pile on every time someone starts something about the GSCA Dean?? Does it make you feel good or something?? You arent even a member, so why? Its tiresome and the members who DO like being a member of the GSCA dont wanna be subjected to your axe grinding.

We all know you are not a member, you quit because you think the newsletters were late (though I bet you NEVER missed one! like with some other clubs), yada, yada, yada. Can you spare us next time?

Old news and old hat Dean.

And to answer your question, yes, there is a lot of UN TRUE statements in this thread. You couldnt tell because like I said you arent a member. 1.) They havent given out decals to new members in YEARS! so dont act like this is something new Dean when you know it isnt 2.) The Xtra's arent ALL GN's. The latest Xtra had a front page feature on Chilenskis 70 Stage 1. 3.) It also had a nice writeup on The old Jones and Benisek car and the old KB mule. 4.) Also an article on the old Buick sponsored teams of JB, The Capsels, Mike Doyle and Tom Vania. The one before had Kents red Stage 2. Richards idea is to have one issue with GN stuff and the next with GS stuff and so on so everyone has a taste of the pie.

In fact, I am currently working on 2 NICE articles with Dave Benisek and Doug Jones about GSX 4085 and Daves relationship and history with it and the man on the west coast who was in charge of it and the GM training center in Burbank back in the day. It should be a very interesting read. Too bad you will have to borrow a copy.

Should I keep going Dean? Rejoin and you will know these things for yourself. Then maybe you could drop the 'tude.

Dean, you need to realize I am just one of the many people that work hard to make the GSCA, the Xtra, the GS Nationals etc what it is. And as one of those people, I dont like you spitting on my boots every time I turn around. So next time why dont you think about all those people before you dog pile. Ok?

All I do is make a little joke about the decals and I get this? Geesh.
Grow up dude. You have your opinion. I have mine. I'll leave it at that. Can you?

Hi, ok...thanks for all the responses, and the offers from Topcat + Dl7265 to help me out! I'm just really trying to get some perspective on the club, I want to feel like I belong, there is no chapter here, it's in NY I think, the NE chapter. I can see there ARE some really strong chapters, like that one and Chicago, and others. So...obviously there are peeps who are happy in the GSCA.
A few years ago, before I bought my GS, I had my 442 at Bowling Green for the Olds Nats. The GSCA Nats was at the same place there the week before us, I'm sorry I missed it! I can't go there this year, because I'm going to Reno for the Olds Nats, and also to Danvers for the BCA Nats.
I remember about 15 or so years ago was I became aware of the GSCA. It was from a window decal on a 70 GS, I asked the owner about the club. I know it's a gimmick type of thing, but items like shirts, hats, stickers, etc. DO help promote a club, raise awareness, and entice new members to join. I'm older, and I am also aware of how Richard has carried the torch for Buick, even dating back to the days of Musclecar Review (the REAL one) and on the strip. It's not really the dues that bothered me, not the decals, it was that I couldn't even find a place to BUY them! So I appreciate you guys hooking me up. I'll PM Wildbill, thanks for the help, I hope to see some of you in Danvers. Best regards.......Frank

    Frank,

First, I'm sorry I jacked your thread, I do get carried away sometimes. That being said:

Forget the Olds thing. Come to the GS Nats in BG in October for the best time of your life! You will go home and sell that Olds! (Just kidding:cool: )

At any rate, glad you are in the GSCA and glad you are here on V8Buick. Anything you need for Buicks you should be able to find here. Anything Xtra will be found in the Xtra. Good articles, tech etc. And do make the Nationals sometime. You will never forget it.:3gears:

Another cool member of the GSCA that makes the GSCA and the Nationals what it is. Without members like this there would be neither. :beer
