Thanks for the :TU: . Too bad the sun was soooo brilliant. Tried to give you guys a 'walk around the car'. Just in case you were wondering...that's a Monte SS steering wheel with a Tri-shield emblem covering the SS emblem. The wheel gives me that 'new car' feel!:Brow:

Nick; as soon as the weather warms a bit..... I am wiring 4th gear lock up this week. Trans filter will get changed, and I have swapped fluid out already.
Other that those things, it's running GOOD! Street tires will hold me back at launch though. I break em loose and the eng. revs to 6,000 way too quick. Have to roll it out and stuff it!:TU: :Brow:...Can you say Drag Radials???:Brow:

    What compression are you running?

Cason: it's at 10.1. 93 pump gas runs well!:) The pistons, chambers, valve edges, etc., all have radii on every sharp edge. NO detonation or spark knock at all, ever. This mechanic friend of mine put me up to it.:TU:

Sounds great! I think I'm running about 9.7, but ours do sound very similar.

Wanna wake your car up real good? put a 4.10 gear in it, you have the cam(rpm), and the OD trans!!!!!

That big gear is going hurt you on regular radials for sure. I'd recomend a set of Drag radials for sure. I have BFGs on my car, but there are better options these days.

Can't wait to here how it goes, I'm heading to the track my self this Friday, then the next batch of mods will get done.

    I'd recommend slicks.

Nice car, nice sound. Are you running true duals or X or H pipes?

Marc: Hooker supers into 2-1/2 mandrel bent all the way to the N-25's, with H pipe, Flowmasters, #30 series long case muffs.

Hmm, I've been thinking and yours does sound a tad choppier than mine. Maybe it's because you have Flowmasters and I have Walker Dynomax mufflers. I'm kinda getting the itch for more cam, however I still got tuning to do with this one!:TU:

I would try a cam in between the TA 413 and the TA 510 cam. You have that X-Factor Intake. You should take advantage of the high rpm potential of the intake. The cam you have in there probabably won't rev much past 6000 rpm. I know mine won't and it is larger on duration than yours. You only have 10* of over lap on the cam. Good for the low end, but your X-Factor intake wants to rev high. You should put in the cam to make this happen and help promote the intake. I am sure Mark would like to sell more of those. Take it to the track then decide if you want to change cams or not. I want to know how fast it is with the X-Factor Intake.

If it was me and I had that intake I would put in cam#50355 or 50353 solid from Crower cams or I would use #50261 or 50260 Hydraulic cam from Crower Cams. I think the TA413 or TA 210s solid cam would be good for the X-Factor Intake also. I would put the TA510 cam back in on mine and run a 3500-4000 stall convertor and a 410 gear.:TU:

Going with a bigger cam would start to stray away from the goal of this build. This is my only car, I drive it everyday and on long road trips. Buying the X-Factor intake was more of an effort to "nickle and dime" more power out of a relatively mild combination. The 1.65 rockers where another "nickle and dime" part. However, that intake is nothing but great. Yes, I know I am not using it to it's full potential, but I know it's helping me out. Still thinking about the mysterious 20 HP dyno gain with a 212 cam and stock heads.:puzzled: Plus it looks awesome! You also have to understand, I'm still running the factory shortblock, which means a heavy rotating assembly and no valve notches. So adding more RPM and cam is not really possible. I am not the most hardcore 350 guy out there, but I am simply doing the best with what I got.

I plan on some track time this summer, but I got to get finish with my spring classes at UA first. Then I need to install a Hi-Po mechanical fuel pump and then I'll make some passes.

Last time I ran it hard on the street with a tach, it stopped pulling hard past 5k, so I think it's running out of fuel.

I'll tell ya, I wish I had someone a little more knowledgeable to help me tune this thing in person. I really need it.

I'm going to have a hard time understanding if this car doesn't run at least low 13s. I still haven't been able to get it to 60ft worth a damn. 1.9 with slicks!
