Good news, Finally. No more water in the oil and seems to be going well. I need to do one last round of head bolt torquing after running on the run stand then it goes into the car I hope for the last time. I thought I would do a video of how every thing is routed. I am still getting questions on how to route the oil lines and the fuel pressure boost reference regulator. And a few revs for good measure.

You have to remember that the Engine is not turning a torque converter on the run stand. And yes the tach is correct. But It revved fast even in the car, I think it is because it is Dynamically and Statically balanced. I just pulled the turbo's and valve covers and re-torqued the heads. The engine was still fairly warm so I think I will re-torque in the morning and then install. I am so excited I think I just peed a little:grin::shock::grin::shock::Brow::Brow::Brow::Brow::Brow:

Nightmaro strikes again. Got the engine back in the car yesterday. I drove it a little around the neighborhood 3 or 4 times everything went real good. This morning I took it out for a spin to do the first 5000 RPM run, pulls like crazy. The only problem is that when I looked in the rear view mirror to see if I pissed of any of my neighbors, I saw a huge trail of water fallowing me. I got lucky that the freeze plug it blew out was the one under the starter. It only took about a half hour to put in. tomorrow I will run it again to see what else I can break.

I really think an exorcism is in order. To bad you are so far away because I have a home exorcism kit (made up of beer and vodoo mask) that may be of benifit. I just found out I have a blown head gasket. Retorqued the heads in hope that I can just cruise this week.

Any idea how much boost you are getting?

I have a 6psi spring in it for now. It hit 6.2 this morning, now I think something is wrong with the alignment. Every time it goes over 2 psi the car wants to jump off the road. It got real ugly this morning at 6.2psi:grin:

Maybe its just the Buick engine trying to jump out of the Skymaro and into a Buick!

Seriously though great work, and I hope you have a torque strap or something to help hold that monster in there!

I have a little tid bit of info for anyone wanting to do turbo's. You need to have a good working carburetor. No stumbles or it will cause air fuel ratio issues. If anyone has been fallowing this project you know that I have been fighting air fuel ratio issues for some time. I have had an issue with off idle stumble for a couple of years know. The problem had developed after I took every thing apart to swap out my old turbo setup for marks kit. The carb sat for about a year on the shelf. the other day I noticed that the stumble was caused by the fact that the front accelerator pump was not squirting. Turns out it was the little flapper valve under the pump. For 12$ the car is night and day. I will never go back to naturally aspirated power after today's experience(fun) driving the car. I will say it is not something to let an inexperienced driver lose on by them selves.

Nice to hear James! You know, if you really continue wrenching, building engines, installing turbos, porting heads, and watching your wideband, someday you might even develop enough mechanical skills to change the jetting in that carb too!

LOL........... I think I will change the jets when(if) I get my alcohol injector kit:bla:

Okay, fair enough. I still think it would be worth tinkering more on the primary side to get the most out of part throttle on the street.

I saw your video and while I was on YouTube I found something that made me think of you. This is what might happen if you don't put that Buick motor back in a Buick in a full frame.

Way to go, glad you finally got to catch the cheese that was moving on ya.

That would suck! I almost wrecked the car today. We have lots of tight merge lanes that force you to accelerate around corners. I just barely squeezed the throttle it hit 2.3 psi. I went from cool to fool in no time flat. I looked really foolish cleaning my under ware out along side the road. Good news is I have been putting lots of miles on it. Oil pressure is 55psi at about 3000rpm/65mph and at idle it is about 18psi. It takes a while for the oil pressure to come down from 75. The temperature is settling down as well it will runs 200 at 65 and 195 at idle. The engine seems to be liking the extra drive time, every trip the temp does better and better. Hope to get track time in September at nostalgia drags. But that is only if I get the alcohol injector kit.

Jeez James. I had no idea you were such an alcoholic. Won't even run it at the track without it huh?

When you get a chance, send me a run down on your carb, what's been done to it? I have a Hoelley 800 DP I'm planning to mod myself for blow-through, Jimmy C. was going to help me work on it this weekend, but, well, he's not around anymore. It has some small parts missing like accelarator pump cams from the looks of it. I guess I'll have to do it the hard way, get a parts book and figure it out.
