What will you be using for hangers? I have 3” wheelz tips and Caruso’s hangers but I don’t believe they will work.
Thank you to Mike B for the absolute bad ass Fly eye and the Shelby Cal 500 15x7 wheels. I will be putting the original WG wheels up because I want a old school look from when I was a kid. My first mag wheels I bought were Slots and I really dig them and it takes me back to my youth. They many not be to everyones taste but I absolutely dig them. The Fly Eye is just going to be really cool looking on the car and set it off big time. Its about the details and this is a big one even if its small in size.
Jerry gave me all the hangers for the exhaust and he had this all on his car so I know it will all work just fine. The car is going to sound Bad ass with the headers and pipes.
Hey Dave, yeah I thought about that. Just never done them before and not sure how. Worried about popping the spring into my face. Don’t know the procedure of what to so and not to do. I had someone redo all the suspension fo me while Nathan was painting the body. Two of the four ripped because I forgot to grease them before I took it for its first test drive. So need to redo at least one on each side so I thought I’d do all four. Plus no clue where to take it for alignment here in Charlotte. Thanks Nick
Yeah I like a lot of the ones that are out but I am trying to stay in the correct era of it being a day 2 car. I am not going to go nuts and worry overly about being 100% correct on the dates of parts but I want it to be something vintage cool. I really am excited to see how this car comes along. Big movement will come when I get the car into my garage at the house and not at another location. Its a slow process but I think I will make a lot better time when I get it to the house.
Thank you to Brian in Texas for the bumper and Rusty in Tenn for turning it into a custom N/25 bumper for me. A special thank you to Kerry and Doug for hauling it back to NC for me. Thank you all for the help
I posted a want ad on Craigslist and a guy named Scott in Asheville NC mailed me two very cool old key chains from the dealership my car came from. He also put me in touch with a man that had some original trunk emblems from the dealership. I bought two of them from him (top & bottom ones).
This is on the trunk of Ethan’s beater ‘72. Was David Hall a Buick dealer or some other marque? Patrick
I dig the slots also. I had them on the rear of my 69 SS when I was a kid. I had them wrapped with L60 15 MT's along with ladder bars, great times.
Tom, I havent seen anything yet that makes me want to go away from stock on the interior. That said Duane has the Blue Line gauges in his Motion car and that could be something I end up looking for possibly but from my understanding trying to find a set of them is costly and hard to find. The only other thing I plan to possibly do is have someone laser etch the aluminum shifter handle ( part that goes in the slot of the woodgrain handle ) I bought years ago from Mike Garrison. I thought it would be cool to etch into it "GSX #323" I just think that would be a cool thing to see when I get in and go to put it in gear. My plan is to not do anything that would be hard to reverse. Valve covers breather gauges ect are all easy to change if later I want to go back to stock. I wont change the upholstery as that would be hard to change back
