Out of the garage for the first time, was close to 60 Saturday so I took the time to cruise it around town and get some fresh fuel in it, then went snowmobiling the next day....still PLENTY of snow up high and piling up more while it stays mild here in the valley..... Only a 3 1/2 month hibernation this year
One little detail thing I've been working on: I hate worm clamps and the way they look. So I bought a bunch of stainless t bolt clamps and am replacing all the hose clamps with them. Cutting off the excess threads to make them nice and sanitary.
Hey Lucas, you came back!!. I was giving you till the weekend then was gonna put out a wellness check on ya man. I love how much snow is on that cabin roof, plow a bunch up beside the cabin and you could hit that with the sled for some awesome air!
Hahaha...it was getting a little too, ummmmm, "snowflaky" here and I quite honestly was going to go full ham, really let my thoughts out, and get myself a permanent vacation, but took the break instead....some really good years that snow is all connected from the roof to the ground and I have jumped the cabin before
Thanks Rich! I'll hang out a little more and try to post more progress. I've either got big things coming for it or not so much, we'll see how the other car projects go to see how much more I get done to the '60 this year. Kind of nice just to hop in and drive it without screwing with it too much.
Yeh I hear ya it's been quite tense here for a bit now, alot of threads getting locked or deleted, people are "sensitive" nowadays lol. Glad to see ya back, the Caddy is lookin' sweet man so is that sled! That's awesome you've actually jumped that cabin, I'd hit that too man! I use to do alot of lake riding and we'd always run the open water of the pressure cracks. I'll see if I can load up an old video of my buddy on his F7.
That's my buddies arctic kitty, I'm a Polaris guy myself ....this is me a few years ago and another from last weekend, also a pic of one of the chutes we normally climb but they all avalanched within the last month... that pile up at the bottom is about 12 feet deep.
Here it is. This is my buddy Newfie Pete. He's a crab fisherman who can't swim, well actually he learned real fast later on this day/night when he hit an ice chunk and rolled the sled in the open water which was around 80'-100' deep where we were running.
Ahhh man I'd love to ride out where you are, that looks soo awesome! We do alot of trail and lake running our here, no cool mountain backcounwhere I'm at.
Hahaha....yep pretty damn amazing that they'll "float". Used to watercross over in Washington. Cool feeling skimming along. About 20 years ago we were riding on the lake in July and my buddy's sled blew up and ended up at the bottom of the lake. That was expensive to get out.
Its definitely exhilarating for sure! Always funny watching the guys in early spring go out "sled fishing" to retrieve the sleds and quads from the winter season. I was lucky and never sunk mine, came close one time, she started going under but hit the edge of the ice just in time.
I went snowmobiling in January, out in Colorado, for the first time in 28 years... the next day I felt like I got hit by a bus! Thats quite a workout!!
Brought it to work today ....for those guys that said the car looks short in the pics, this one does it a little better justice haha....
Had to pop on and get some pics off the thread, here's a few I haven't shared, I don't think..... Also got big whitey back on the road after a much too long hiatus in pieces, and drove the hell out of it this last spring/summer/fall. Surprising how much stuff you need to fix on a neglected car even after only a few years of sitting. "Meme" courtesy of my Mullet Mafia brother Joe......Just checked the most "likes". See I'm still way up in 2nd behind the artist formerly known as Clem. What the hell is wrong with you guys?!?! Later gators.
