Have a local machine shop cut the slots for o-ring and call Mike Moran on where to buy the O-rings. Trust me there not exspensive at all, He has a complete o-ring engine and not one gasket. He told me there pretty cheap and ready aviable . MoranMotorsports.com good luck, nice pass by the way..

100 shot is all he is doing with this build. Stock block, crank and rods. That's all the HP he wants out of this combo.

its so far away for us, but it would be nice to run in good air. We plan to go to noble OK in the fall for buick vs. Ford race and they usually have good air. We hope for a 9.xx time slip on this set upnTyler built. I just drive the tow truck.
He is changing tranny and gear, and has some tweaking on the suspension to do still. Should be a fun year.

if he swaps gears you will probably need a parachute in the 1/4 i think 135 is the limit right?

150, or track specific. Hoping to get there though. In a street legal car.

a 20 mph gain is a huge difference in power...im shooting for about 2 years lol

The numbers on paper say it is possible, which is amazing for Tyler's low budget car. Everything has to work correctly, and together, which is what I tried to teach him. Its not how many dollars, its how you use them. I tell him it is easy to get a 10 second car to run 12's, but hard to get it to run 10's.

Tyler is having a lot of fun with this old Buick. Converter and gear change coming up now so he can run 1/4 mile with the spray. And be ready for a good sea level track for the fall.

Since it is a street car, consider doing Hot Rod Drag Week this year. It's in your neighborhood. Topeka KS, Great Bend KS, Amarillo TX, Tulsa OK, and back to Topeka. Most fun you'll have in your car for a week. Lots of great people. A friend of mine in West Texas joins me each year and he is bringing his Buick this year. Another Buick guy from Indy also meets us each year and we run together. Buicks gotta stick together. There are several classes. Check out the rules on HotRod.com and click the link on the right side about 1/2 to 3/4 down the page.

With that mph, you get some traction and you will be moving. A couple of weeks ago I ran at a local track that I don't consider very good and went 6.55 @ only 102 mph, with a 1.39 60'. Car was not really hooked either as I had on an old set of tires and it was movimg around and I could feel some slip.

Yea, Jim. This pass was still without the suspension dialed in at all. We changed the front springs and cut a coil off. Need a little more off then set up the rear bar and pinion angle. That should help us hook up. this track is an air strip and started running some races, so it is fresh anyway.

    Congrats! Car is flying!

    I made a pass in 2010 with a ET of 6.48@98.4MPH in the 1/8 mile, 60 foot was a 1.56.
