Mike if Rod is not going to build his blower motor. Is there someone that is going to build any big power anytime soon. Are you going to use your motor to test strength of the block I'm hoping to see someone make some major steam with it soon. I was told but didn't ask that rod was out and going to a hemi in his car? Not sure but that was the rumor and he had his block for sale. I figured he would put it thru its paces. Whats your plan?

His block for sale? Did he have to buy a block?? Call me crazy, but wouldn't GOOD BUSINESS SENSE say give the FASTEST BBB GUY IN THE WORLD! a BLOCK so he can show off your product for all to see?

Yes I paid full price for the block. Mike gives me Excellent service and a discount, but the block there was no discount which i understand not much proffit margin... as far as me putting a B.A.E A.J.P.E or keith black motor in my car here goes.. because I have a $6500 block I have to put together a buick for now.. But I have plans to start piecing together a pro mod motor, heres why...I want to be able to race my car local and be competitive in order to do so I have to run around 6.50.. All I will gain with the new block is 75 lbs weight savings and around 1000 rpm gain, this will not put me in 6.50's.. and the biggest reason is why try to go any faster with a buick, the only guy wants to go really fast is galena/freeman, I showed up at bpg with a street leagle pump gas spare parts car running low 10's with danie driving and qualified in the middle of the pack. so why should I bring a car that costs me $60 per pass in fuel and oil alone, to these events? to race myself???

    Hey Rod,

Good to see you and Danie again at the nats..

    Question for you..

Don't you think with the advent of the block now that will handle the power, that the competition that you seek, is soon to materialize?

I know, for a fact, that there are a number of folks with some pretty deep pockets, that have simply been waiting for a solid foundation for a serious investment to become a reality.

Hell, I am building a mega HP street car here now... well over 6 figures.. It's a back half GS that is slated to have enough grunt to outrun George's car.. The motor alone is past 30K... so those guys are out there.

Bobb's already there, and if he put that motor in a smaller car, and upped the ante with the new block and a bunch more cubes, he will be there..

When the next guy comes along, and wants to build a dedicated race car, I can assure you that sooner or later, someone will put a Buick BB in the 6's.

It takes a pro stock type chassis car, with a force fed big cube motor, and those are possibilities now.

The day that the big chief style head comes along, we might just be able to leave the blower/turbos on the bench and get there.

You and Danie have surely made some sacrifices, to put on a good show and go fast with a block that you know is going to die early, now that you have something that will live, it's my opinion that you should be working to refine your combo, to take advantage of your early lead in the mega HP wars.

You might not hear it yet, but the roar of the car that your not pulling away from, is on somebodies drawing board..

    northcorner Guess what I'm thinking..

Thank you for all your sacrifices from a "wannabe". You've certainly set the bar high for all of us. I only hope that you will persevere and represent the Buick community for years to come. Thanks man:beers2: .

yeah dont give up yet. gallina freeman's car is going 6's with under 300 cubes and heads that dont flow much. btw what size motor are you putting together with the new block?

I agree with Jim on this with the block there is a ton of options that can work out for people boost is the answer in a lot of cases. I think you will see a lot more cars going really fast in the buick world. simple pump gas stuff with boost is going to be outrunning NA full on race stuff. the motor we put in Geof regal is a pump gas motor with 10 pounds of boost and has been 8.50 163MPH. and the converter is WAAAAY off the sixty's are mid 1.30's but he doesn't want to take it apart til winter. I think we will start to see more and more of these kind of combos. I have a 25.1e started but have not finished just because i'm into the 10 inch tire stuff more right now. but that has gotten so out of had with drag radial cars in the 6's at over 220. I have not got the pockets for that but I do want to get the black car into the low 8's before I go to the tube car. I wish Rod didn't have the money he has into the roots deal I think he could make more power with a front drive F3 with less work. I have not posted this because we didn't back these numbers up at the track but the motor in the black car was a nail head cranked 415 cubic inch 455 block motor with my f2 on it. on the dyno we stopped pulling it at 7000 because the boost was getting to high at 18.5 pounds but peak horse power and torque were achieved there so we left some on the table it made 1370 HP and 1028 ftlbs at 7000. Now we didn't back up those number at bpg but we did run 8.90 155+ with 12 pounds of boost not the 18.5 it made peak power at. i think we have figure out why we were not makeing the boost we had the same issue last year with the big motor and never figured out why but I think we have now. It has to do with my air pickup point on the front of the car for the cold air intake.

Rod with the new block turn that thing up and let it eat. No matter if you are the fastest with it being buick powered you will be the coolest and if you can stick it into the 6.'s you will get way more attention than you will with a Hemi. with that your just another small fish in a big pond and the guy's with the money will still beat nobs on your head

well all you guys can keep dreaming its 1997 in bowling green again but those days are gone. people used to run to the stands to see super 16 run that does not happen anymore. Bob, as far as your non roots style blowers go... the day one goes 4 seconds at 330mph then maybe Ill consider changing.. Well I hope you guys are right because right now its about as boring as being at a racetrack waiting for a car show to end....:boring:
to whoever asked my motor will be a 540 cid

    Rod LOL
your right you won't see that but to be honest you aren't going to be either. I guess I have just been hanging around to many fastest street car deals to be honest. I look at alot of the cars that run there and just shake my head with the amount of power they are making. I go with my buddy with the 93impala wagon that runs 315 60 15 drag radials and his last time out when we were at BPG he called to tell me he went 7.69 at 190 and it weighs in at 3560lbs and that is a 540 inch motor with an F3 blowing thru with better heads than we have avail. but damn that thing would rip in your car:TU: Gtetter together and have some fun no matter what it runs

Rod, just put the engine together and crank up the boost to make up for the lack of head. I'll try to remember to talk to dad again.

*when I said put the engine together I meant swap all the parrts onto the aluminum block* Of course I dont know nearly as much as you guys I'm still learnin but at least you wouldnt need to worry about the block splitting in half haha
