Best way to get running quick is find another good running 340 and then slowly rebuild your 340 as time and $ allow.

i added some thicker oil to my engine 20w-50 and my knock went away but i noticed on my gauge when im stopped at a red light it reads around 5-10psi and when driving its about 20psi. when i first start it up it goes up to 40-50psi, but while running never gets that high. something wrong?
Because your engine was starved for oil, one or more rod or main bearings were scored. This causes increased clearance between bearings and the crankshaft which reduces oil pressure. Also some of the worn bearing material can cause problems in other parts of the engine. Tough luck, but we've all made dumb mistakes, but don't compound the mistake by running that engine any more or more than likely you will destroy it.
The 340 wasn't used a lot, but it's not too hard to come up with. I would take the advice given and swap your engine out for a running one. You could rebuild the original engine later. If you look at your dipstick it says the engine takes 4 quarts. Your engine was dry. In addition to destroying the original engine, you may be faced with a hefty tow bill and the problem of not making it to someplace that you needed to be.
