I'm still waiting for the base. It's coming from Canada, and they said a week to 10 days for the ride. Today was day 10.
Looks like the 2" drop base from Air Inlet Systems is close enough to call it good. I had to "adjust" the hood a little and trim 1/4" off of each vent tube on the carb so the X-Stream lid would clear. The air filter is 16"x 3". The part number for the base is 16AL/DBase2.0. AIS has a website and their phone is 905-549-6135, and they are in Hamilton, Ontario.
So this fits with no rubbing issues on the hood? Can I get a phone # of the company that makes the base.
Their phone number is on the last line of the last post I posted (905-549-6315). The air cleaner lid JUST hit the hood at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. A simple "adjustment", and all is well. Engine is a 494, AL rods, GHP level 3 Stage 1 SE's, TA210SHL, 11.0 cr, SPX and 1050 Dominator. Runs good!
Mike, I'm using an AED 4150-style aluminum throttle bracket, with the front half cut off, and a Lokar cable. Throttle return springs go to the stock bracket, held down by an intake bolt. This was a temporary deal to break the engine in, but it's working fine so I'll leave it for now. I'll get a picture soon. :beer
Thanx Bob ur awesome. Hey been meaning to ask U, R U running this on that awesome X u pick up or on that bad ass convertible?
Both have 9375 Dominators, but I'm running the drop-base on the convertible to get it under the stock hood. The X has a Stage 2 scoop and 1" spacer, along with a "regular" Dominator air filter asm.
