It depends on a lot of things. For instance, if you would like to keep the noise and maintenance down by using factory cast iron exhaust manifolds, stage 1 heads are your only choice. With some porting you can get the stage 1 aluminum heads to flow very well. Right out of the box they are close in flow to the best ported factory cast iron stage 1 heads. You can make them even better.

For an all out street engine with headers and good street manners, you may need to consider stage 2 heads, a roller cam etc.

If its going in your 'Sabre Id go Stage-1.

Stage-2s need their own dedicated headers and they dont really shine untill higher RPM.

For a big car I think youll be happier with the low-end brute force of a Stage-1.

If I was starting from scratch, I'd go for the Stage2SE's. The Stage2 headers bolts are a lot easier to install. The Stage2 heads feature the same intake port as a Stage1 with a much better exhaust port. You can use a straight pattern cam with them, and they have more power potential then the Stage1 SE's. Either way, 500 HP is easy to attain with either head. With the LeSabre, you should be able to use the Stage2 shorty headers.

I already have long tube hooker headers...would that make a difference?

Yes, they won't fit the Stage2 heads. IMO, if you can afford the aluminum heads, get the TA Stage1SEs, or the Edelbrock heads.

The first question is will those Hookers even fit a LeSabre. The second issue is they are not likely for Stage 2 heads.

This has been discussed many times before. Each have their pros and cons. Do a search on Edelbrock Heads and read about it.

Before I made any decsion I would really take a hard look at whether the Hooker headers will fit a 455 mounted in your car. Someone on this Board may have tried this already.

TA Stage1SE's. Ported twice. Now flowing 334/250 @ .600 lift.

If you already have headers that fit your car and it has a 455, TA Stg1 SE heads is a no brainer. If you didn't already have headers
Stg2 SE heads may be a better choice for a serious big cam set up. Otherwise with a mild street cam there isn't much advantage
    with the Stg2 heads. IMHO

T/A stage1, that way you can use your headers. T/A takes alot of pride in their work, as opposed to the "stamped out" edelbrocks. Plus you get to use your original, more stable, factory rocker shaft setup. With e-brocks you have to use chevy style rockers, which, in my opinion, suck.

Buy as much extra porting as you can afford...(or not afford)....
