Sequential port fuel injection?

Always wondered if there was enough thickness space to mount the port injectors in / on / above the adapter plate used for installing a MoPar 440 manifold or using the spacer between the raised port heads (Stage 3, 4, Track Eliminator) and a stock port patterened / positioned manifold? A thin throttle body on top would then would make hood clearance issues much easier. Has anyone tried a setup like this to see if there is space?
