Just saw that the episode "Screaming Small Blocks" of the American Muscle Car series will air on Speed channel next week (3/24) with followup reruns on 3/26 and 3/31.

I was interviewed for this at Atlanta last year and don't know if much of my interview will be included (or if it will at all), but you may see a Ramrod on there. That's kinda cool, I think.

Sure hope it does make it, as that's what made me get rushed and forgot my pull-on pants and got DQ'd in the first round for wearing shorts. I sure had Gessler sweating it up to that point.

You can get the schedule and times on www.speedtv.com for your area.

    Amc ????

Oh! AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR!! :Dou: When I first read the "AMC" in your title, I was conjuring up images of screamin' 304's and 360's in Gremlins and Hornets!!!

That's great, Dave! We hope you make the silver screen instead of the cutting room floor! :TU:

Thanks, Frank. It'll be interesting to see what makes it.

I actually did have one AMC years ago. A 1975 Hornet wagon. Actually a pretty nice condition car. It was given to me for some work I did on a relative's Chevy. I also gave it away.

Dave when the word got out that those legs were being shown on Speed Vision the Neilsen rating meter went bent hard right. We can see just muscle cars anytime. But the the legs combined with Gesslar sweating bullets thinking about having to chase you down is another story.

    Never a dull moment

    :puzzled: :TU:

Probably could have gotten away with it if I'd been in the other lane. Guy that DQ'd me was really givng me the eye before he booted me.

Just finally got through Mike Kamm's DVD and see that the magazines were kinder to me than him! Ironic part is the video showed the guy that booted me, mopping the starting line and he was wearing shorts, too! :puzzled:

Other thought (in retrospect) was, I should have slid my shorts down to cover my calves and raced Clinton style. Might have worked but would have been really hard to explain that one.

Especially if you crashed. I can just see the first ambulance attendant to reach the crash scene: "Man, I always heard these racers get off on speed, but this is ridiculous!" :bglasses:

Don't use the word "crash" on a muscle car site. It's kinda like using the word "crazy" in a mental institution or "intelligence" in the Senate. :)

I hear Dave telling 'em now how he was getting such a bite off the line that the shear force of acceleration slid his shorts down to his kness.

    Dave,
You're a star!!! I caught the episode, seems like lots of the interview and many shots of the Ram Rod were shown. :TU: Also saw Casey's car a few times. And I'm sure some others too as they used footage from Stanton.

I think I just caught the last half of that show. They need to have someone identify the cars. They kept showing a gold Corvette calling it a small block when if had the Big Block hood. Then started talking about the small blocks beating big blocks as they showed picts of drag races with the small blocks getting whipped. Was not a bad show they just need to hire someone that knows cars to help with the editing.

I just saw the episode, Dave you & your car looked great, I did catch the glimpse of Casey's w-31, who owned the other 442s I saw in the racing clip, they looked like 71 or 72 442s side by side

WOW ! Good job Dave. :TU:

I, too, was surprised how much coverage they gave an Olds small block. That's pretty cool.

    We can call him:

Had to be the legs, Casey

Thanks. At least they cut out the part about how a W31 came to be a producton car. 68/69 G block owners would have been upset. Not all of them, just a few.

Photographer and interviewer were so busy looking at my "Hollywood" legs that they just let the camera run...... Thank goodness they cut that off at the waist.

Probably raised the value of our W31's a notch or two there. Yours looked good, too.

Whose gold Vette was that? Don't remember that car. Too bad he didn't have that coon ass red Vette on the show.

I'm pretty sure that the Gold Vette was Bill Hamilton's LT-1 from a few years ago. I think all of the drag racing footage from the Pure Stock race(s) was dated. Maybe 3-4 yrs old. It showed me racing Jim Maher's 396 Chevelle. That was a while ago.

I agree with you Casey. It had Dave racing against Brad Rising's GTO. If that was in the 2 out of 3 then it's been at least 3 or 4 years ago if not more.

Way to go Dave. Great way to represent the Ramrod, Pure Stocks and Oldsmobile.
