OZGS455 Oh what a wonderful day!

Sad to say my Stage 1 made reserve and sold to a high end collector.
It's difficult to write this actually as the full impact of the sale and loss has settled.
A car of my calibre and pedigree is very rare, particularly DownUnder.
I'd say the new owner who is unknown to me, as I've not been contacted, and I specifically asked that my contact details be given to the lucky bidder.
I'd say they are into GM as they also acquired a beautiful white 63 split window Vette of very high calibre and a red 67 Vette as well, both for big dollars.
Anyway she's gone, and gone to a good home.
May never see the road again and surely never again have a spirited run down the quarter mile.

I came out 25k in front after auction fees and detailing costs came out, and she never looked so good as she did in the auction showroom at 782 Motors.
I'll see if I can post a link to the YouTube vid and the pics I took.
So what did I buy to replace her?
    Well here's the silly part.....
One of my reasons for unloading were the state of the world, the upsurge in madness post-flu insanity that the world has become.
The climate change crap and the electric debacle as well as the collective insanity of everything else they're tryna push down our throats...
Cash in while the goings still good was my thoughts...
    Hmmm..
So the upshot of this is I'm on an auction a couple of weeks later bidding on a mint 66 Chev 4 door , one family car, immaculate.
I'm waiting for the bidding to almost close and pounce....I waited a millisecond too long.
What would have been a beautiful asset slipped through my bidding finger as I hit send at the same time the auctioneer said SOLD!
    Not to me sadly....
Ok so a look at what else was on offer.
A nice '56 Chev 210 post with warm 327 auto , pwr steer, 4 wheel discs, lowered properly, nice wheels, nice interior, attractive colours,
Someone else had their eye on it too as I paid a bit more than I liked.
Same with the silver '91 MB 500SL Roadster that I bidder on and won.
5 litre V8 , quad cam, very low with very big rubber , a full size slot car on the twisties and speed limited to 260(150) on the straights.
Both were in Melbourne over 1000 miles away.
PHEW!!!!just hit wrong key and almost lost youse!!!
Well I did lose this page and new phone but managed to recover itdunno if I could've wrote all this again... memory wise and psychologically.
    It hurts a bit...
    Acceptance...
I came out in front moneywise, and had 5 years of joy, pride, fun, experience, with the Buick.
The Chevy nowhere near the calibre of the Buick and the Benz though nice to drive is a potential money pit if anything fails, thankfully I've found a good trustworthy mechanic who did his time on them as well as my 89 300CE that he just replaced valve guide seals on for $300 cash using compressed air.
He's had my 500SL on his hoist and gone over it and pronounced it a good solid car.
Solids the word it weighs in around the 4000 lbs of the Skylark.

And I still had a little change after getting both cars tricked door to door in 3 days by a very reputable transport.
My shed/workshop is now FULL to capacity with 3 classics and my 3 motorbikes, plus my tools etc, and the 300 CE parked outside.
To work on anything else my bikes and one car have to go outside.
Not the ideal situation but it is what it is...

Funny thing is nothing's really changed in the world since my decisions and actions...Funny that hey!
and I'm less one gas guzzling dinosaur and gained two!
    They both love a drink!
