Let me check my to do list: 1. put the trans back in the car 2. install shifter 3. driveshaft, saftey loop, etc 4. install exhaust manifolds, sidepipes (sorry Miller) 5. Rebuild carb 6. change oil and plugs well, I should be there, it looks like I am a little ahead of schedule........
will be there with the GT-37. Hopefully it doesn't break this year. The trans seems to be popping out of reverse on occasion. Luckily we don't need no stinkin reverse :Brow: I just hope my knee holds out to work the man pedal otherwise the girlfriend will be running the car. While she knows how to row gears she has yet to drive my car. Guess what we get to do this weekend
Well...I got thirty five miles out of my engine, I built to run at Stanton. I was and still am so pissed. I thought about just chucking the whole racing thing til next year. But as I sit here, as it grows closer.....I'm thinking about pulling the four speed out of retirement again. :3gears: We'll see. I'm not going to pre register this year. Although I haven't canceled the room reservations.
Rhondas car is ready, Had to replace the carb with one that ISN"T stripped out and leaking. New are gears are in it. Mine has an auto in it ou: uzzled: the car will be there so if I can use the foot---I WILL!!!! Donny , What the hell man. You are the only one I know that has the Trans exhaust Manifolds and carb off Every time we talk to you. uzzled: Being it set a personal best at Martin I'd leave the bugger alone !!! Bad summer for Buicks, Jeremy, Roberta, and yours. Good luck
I suspect the usual crew of Canadians will be found carousing in the parking lot... probably packing a few extra padlocks!
That is why it set a personal best at US131 because that's Donny's idea of "tweaking" every year. Man, I wish I could afford an engine/trans teardown every summer.uzzled: My idea of tweaking is to dust off the car, and maybe change the plugs from last year. I think I still have last year's plugs and jet settings from October in the 340. I did change the oil in spring and put fresh water in the radiator. OH! And, I put new mufflers on it too. I guess I'm done thrashing for 2009:TU: See you girls next week at PSMCDR!!
jim lerum is fresh out the gates;with a Dan jensen rebuilt 454 for the cortez silver Ls-6 Chevelle.we all know how good Dan is on these purestock motors.Keep rolling the muncie, Jim.I will be there next year with maybe both 68 nova ss 396 cars.good luck guys and gals .chris Teed
I'll say it for all of us. man pedal!!! man pedal!!! bring the car out of retirement. :3gears: I doubt anyone pre-registers, since it's sign up when you show up
carb and exhaust off (check) trans, bellhousing, etc out (check) at least the body work is done........
YA MON!!! I be there. The only major thing I have to do is get some new shoes for the trailer. Current rubber is dry rotted. That's on the calender for Monday afternoon.
Larry and I will be there with three cars and a guest driver as it looks like young Larry's out due to starting college and no car (freshman not allowed a car) to drive up and meet us. We have some issues but by this weekend I believe we will be ready. Donny needs a total rework each year not due to updates but the worst luck of any PS racer ever. If it possibly could break, Donny will be first to do so.:spank: Tim the AMX coming? Mark
