The Regal had a 6 pt cage when I bought it and my understanding was its good for 7.50 or slower in the 1/8 . The new engine went a best of 7.00 throttled stopped around 2/3 travel so I know theres another 1/2 sec in there. Tech guy said I needed more cage. Bought a pre bent kit from ART which was supposed to fit my car but didn't come close. After some cutting, a slight bend or two I got the hailo and the window bars that run down behind the A pillar welded top and bottom. I got 5 pcs of pipe left. Its my understanding one is supposed to go across the dash but being as my factory dash is in place I dont need it. Another two are to go along the bottom of the door but this car has a full frame and again was told not needed and the last 2 are intended to go at a 45* from the hoop behind the seats to the center of the car. There is no solid support in the center of the car only sheet metal. Are they supposed to be welded to the provided plates and then bolted to the floor or hump. Looking at the pictures and diagrams its unclear. Any insight and or pictures would be a big help. I believe its required to have 10 attachment points to the frame and now I count only 8.

Briz, that's why I use my Friend's chassis shop. Besides the fact that my welding skills are lacking, to say the least! I would consult a tech guy or a real chassis builder. Easier to ask first than it is to have to cut bars back out. Here's a couple pics of our '67 Skylark 8 point cage and the 8.50 cage in the Camaro to give you an idea. Hope they help. 2 GoFast 42.jpg 2 Gofast (2).jpg 2 GoFast 27.jpg 5 Caged (1).jpg 8 Seats In (2).jpg 7 Interior redo (3).jpg

I believe ,but not sure, those diagonal bars would go to the crossmember where your upper control arms mount. I'm trying to picture how mine is.

The steering wheel in pic #6 looks oddly familiar. It's just missing a big red button!

I would install the entire kit, make it fit, if your laying in the hospital one day thinkin about them bars u left out , well that would suck.

In my last pic, I have two bars that go from the main hoop to plates on the driveshaft tunnel.

Those would be better served to attach to a rear suspension mounting point like Dom mentioned.

The rear driveshaft loop connects those. I still kept my rear seat. Not that my ass could ever get back there. I'll have to hire a contortionist Pygmy to clean the back glass.

Here's the reason we kept the seat, besides looking better: P1010120.jpg

Not what the tech guy at Gainesville told me. 7.49 n faster needs 10/12

I have a part of the ladder bar mount that runs close to that area but not really in line with it. Id have to do some sort of an off set bend to reach it.

My DS loop is just bolted through the floor to the rear seat belt mounts. No ones ever said anything about it.
