procedure for hanging a-body fenders?

Looks like your gaining on it,what Smokey is saying is important because you will have that thing looking like Delorean engineered it and then when you line up the hood,it is another story. Changing in and out on the front of the fender really messes with your gap(especially in the center of the door gap). If you have your doors looking right, you may as well tighten up the core support and mock fit everything. This stage really does make a BIG difference in the final product. It also keeps your paint on the car instead of little pieces flying off when opening doors and hood.Patience and learning to walk away at the right part of the day is what makes a paint job. It gets annoying when you think you got it,but then you have to move one thing and that changes everything.

I hung the fenders and for the hood on today. After adjusting the hinges, the hood sits nice and flat, square in the opening between fenders.

Everything is very close. I might try a shim under the fender's cowl bolt.

Hah it ain't finished yet. Still have the "bulge" a little on the fenders, and need a little hood fine adjust. But yes I will get more pics as I move along.

PM me if you need to ask any questions about 'squaring' the hood in the opening. I'll PM my phone number and I'll talk you through it. Easier than typing it all here. There is a trick to it that many don't know. I've aligned more than I'd like to admit.
