    Black or Red???

Now the question is.... Black or Red?

Decided against Satin, and after working next to a 455 we built that is a red block, aluminum heads and black valve covers, the black started to grow on me. But I like the black and red equally so its a 50/50 mix up for me.

Black! With the black valve covers and a clean GS ram aircleaner assembly that motor will really stand out once its in an engine bay, especially the BUICK lettering.

Mine are like the black set. Looks more powerful. That's my vote.

Black, all the way! Looks much tougher. By the way, did you ever try to run the motor with the 950 carb. and a maybe 1" tapered spacer (like a Wilson, for example)? Just curious.
    Great job with that motor!

Once you've decided on BLACK! ***subliminal message***

I'll take those "used" red TA valve covers off your hands for $100.00:dollar:

Mike the engine is looking good. I liked the valve train in it :TU: when I saw it last week. Did you end up using the deep oil pan with the few dings in it? If so how did it turn out?

Yep, we straightened it out and fabbed a pick up tube for it. I also made a windage tray to fit too, looks pretty sweet. I'm working on a custom 1 piece pick up tube and should have that done today, which means the engine is complete!

Do you make your own valve covers? And what do they sell for? I have always loved that black with the brushed lettering:laugh:

Send that my way for some testing! We'll drop it in the truck and see how easily it roasts these 33's. Dont worry, we'll break it in properly first with a drive upstate and back. :bla:

Really need to get it on a dyno, we want to know exactally how it does! (Think of it as good PR?)
