It was in a few turns but I'm going to back it out a bit. I drove it yesterday on a cooler day and the pressure stayed in the 40's for a good while. I'll have to see how many turns it takes to drop it to where I want it.

    Hi StKing!

Did you do any further adjustments to the regulator yet? I was just wondering how this was working out for you and if you removed the distributor and primed the oil pump after the spring change. I don't plan to drain or remove the oil filter first. May be my next project, tomorrow.

Hey no further adjustments, made the trip to big bear from LA on Friday, oil pressure was steady at 40 psi on the freeway and 15-20 while at idle. I did prime the pump after installing the new spring I didn’t want to risk it.

Well that was pretty easy to do. I didn't even have to jack the car up. I can't take it for a drive yet, but letting the car get up to 180 degrees from dead cold, the oil pressure stayed around 50 psi. It was 55 psi at cold start. I'll wait to make any further adjustments until I can drive around for a while and see how it works.

The oil will not get as hot as it will get unless you drive at highway speeds for at least 15-20 minutes. Idle won't do it.

Thank you Larry. I saw you mention this a few times before. That's why I'm waiting to make any further adjustments to it, until I can drive it around for a while.

Just make sure you have 65+ at high rpm hot or you will smoke a bearing.....
