    FYI,

It is about 75 - 80 or so in Seattle today, absolutely beautiful day. Tomorrow, cooling off to 70 - 75 with some clouds.

Saturday, chance of rain in the morning, as we try not to string together more than 3 days without rain.

Amen, except along the Gulf in Hurricane season. I think Bowling Green will be perfect. Isn't there an "exercise" facility for the cars near there called Beech Bend? :Brow:

I'm going to hit the Tulsa race in October (16). Understand there's a contingent of very serious Olds Stock Appearing cars coming down from Chicago/ Iowa area.

    Weather update, for those interested:

Friday is starting off partly sunny in the south Sound and mostly cloudy to the north. Plan on clouds to increase today as a weak system pushes into western Washington. We could even see a shower on the north coast by sunset. Highs will drop to the low 70s.
Some scattered light showers to the area mainly Seattle northward Saturday, but everyone has at least a chance of showers.

Those scattered showers hang around until midday Saturday, when we get some partial clearing. We could have a few left-over showers in the Convergence Zone. Temperatures again will top out around 70.

We are back to sunshine on Sunday.

And for a current update, stick your head out a window and look up!

For those of you who don't know, the ability to predict the weather more than a day in advance, if that, is pretty much impossible out here. Three days ago they predicted sunny from Wednesday through early next week, with temps starting in the mid 70's and getting up into the mid 80's by next week.

It can be tough to plan things out here.

You weenies!!!! C'mon---what's wrong with 105 degrees and sunny! You don't have to dry off the car when you wash it, fresh paint jobs get a free sunbaking which really helps catalyze the paint and get all the solvents out of it, and you find out just how durable the dyes in the vinyl are in your new interior!

This reminds me of quite the opposite in Denver a few years back---we get there on Thursday to the host hotel....all those great looking Olds's packed in the parking lot and what happens that SUMMER afternoon???---A HAILSTORM!!!---talk about a bunch of nervous people rushing out to their cars! (fortunately the hail wasn't large enough to do any damage and didn't last long but man, it was kind of scary when the first bits of hail started falling and you really didn't know how large it would get).

OK,OK---it will be hot and Dallas is kind of a "paved over" type city so there's not a lot of relief anywhere....just bring a wet towel and some ice to drape across the back of your neck.

Hey---it's a dry heat so it's not as bad as it seems!

    Thanks, Patton

    Yep, that was me.
Although I don't have any business searching the ads (since my Skylark is sitting without a motor, and I still have money to invest there), I have to stay ahead of Chris.

Did any of the Olds group make it out to the Battle of Detroit at Pacific Raceways?

    Hey,

    I resemble that remark!

I also made it out to the show on Saturday for a little while, I looked for Paul and John, but didn't see them. There were some very nice cars there, I especially liked the red 66 442 F-85 post car, ram air and tri-power, 30k miles if I recall correctly. Seemed like the kind of car for John or Jim to have back in NC. Anybody else see that one?

John owns the frame off red 66 ram air that served as the basis for the model car.

and doesn't he still have the 69 or so F-85? That is why I figured this would be an excellent addition to the collection.

    Randy,

That is not the one I was referring to, the one I meant was a red post car, 66. Wish I would have brought my camera with me! Anybody get a picture of it?

    If that's a '66 Toro (I'm pretty sure it's not a '67), that's Frost Green -- a beautiful and classy color -- sort of a platinum/pewter with just a hint of green in it.

That is a 66. Taillamps were different for 67 and had an eggcrate design rather than the horizontal bars. Same goes for the grilles.

These cars just don't bring the bucks.
