Can someone post a picture of an original fender with stage 1 emblems that they are sure it's never been touched

Yes, but how many cars still have factory fenders? Of course you'd think that someone would transfer them to the next set of fenders. I believe the 70-72 dimensions for all but the 350 "BMD" fender emblems are on the BPG site so it's not like the info is some super secret.

Fender emblem placement is a common issue for First Generation Firebirds ('67-'69) I know mine are likely off. Because parts were shared between Camaro and Firebird, most NOS stuff is generic between the two and they didn't have consistent emblem hole locations. Aftermarket are of course no help, you have to drill them yourself. There are templates out there, but similar to some of the templates for wheels, they don't always match up correctly. That's what I found when trying to use them. For the Firebirds, there is a body line that runs the length of the car. Emblems are shaped to match that contour line, being off slightly leaves a gap between the emblem and the fender.

Factory GS fenders were, of course, factory drilled, but Skylark fenders did not have any letter or number emblems on the front fenders for '70-'72, so Skylark fenders used as replacements (lots more Skylarks produced overall) require drilling. Also, I have always seen NOS fenders without any emblem holes for GSs or for trim for Skylark lower fenders.

Here is a link (with pics and measurement references to original GS sheet metal drilled holes) to an article for '70-'72 'GS', '455' & 'Stage 1' fender emblem placement on the Buick Performance Club website (http://www.buickperformanceclub.com/):

I want to hit a don't like button but there isn't one . Why go halfway on a clone ? Black bucket interior and a repro hood tach. They are only a couple hundred bucks.

I wouldn't even call it a clone - All they did was a color change & add stripes/spoiler. It looks awful (sorry if it's someone on here but...). On the plus side, another hood was saved:).

High bid of 30k on the car that sold in Houston.

In this case they didn't even get get location close. There are certainly some cases of orig. mis-stamps. I see no reason for the "Z" on one of my trim tags indicating a non-recommended color combo. (I've heard it could be for other reasons but...). It's an oddball car for sure and maybe the guy thought "hey, this car deserves a Z" but I suspect it was left in the stamping fixture from a previous one. Could've been one or hundreds stamped that way before it was realized.

I didn't make the trek up to Dallas from here in San Antonio because I've seen the car in person already. It stalled at a high bid of 50k and couldn't get any interest at 52k. My guess is that they pushed it to 50k and there weren't any real bidders there. Maybe someone who was there has some insight as to what happened.

Add another auction to the list. They are showing it will be on the block again at Mecum in Las Vegas on October 8th.

My guy Gary foster has done 3 70 stage one cars for me and he has templates cut from original trunk lid and stage one fenders for proper emblem placement I had to use just 2 nos fenders of the 6
