Jeff, that pic of my car is from when I bought it down in Dallas. It was sitting next to a set of tracks. I do not live near tracks, but the car is once again sitting next to some tracks. It is broke down over at a friends house right now, and he lives across the street from some tracks. This car seems to like trains. :pp

    And awayyyyyyyyyy we go.

OK boys and girls here we go. Motel information.

I have blocked 25 rooms for us at the Super 8 in Wichita. Instead of worrying about inspecting rooms and different places this year. I went with a different line of thinking............ Instead of what they have to offer in the way of perks, I wanted to know what they had to offer in way of PRICE !! Gas prices and all ya know ?? ANyways. Most of us have flopped at a Super 8 so we all know what to expect. It's about 10 minutes from the track, so it's close. Room rates are $42(regularly $65) plus tax per night. :TU: They have high speed net access available and the "a" typical continental breakfast. Coffee and tea all day. NO pool, sorry to the kiddie poos out there, this time is all about the racing. They will hold the rooms for me until the 26th. Anyone that hasn't called by then is gonna be on your own, and more than likely outa the rate deal. So GET YOUR CALLS INNNNNN ASAP if not sooner !!!!!!! Again, they are reserved in my name(Dave Burns) and you will just have to tell them(AND SAY THIS PLEASE !!!!) This is the keywords set up so the counter persons will understand. Tell them.............

"I'm coming with the Buicks and I need a room. They are reserved under Dave Burns name, and I need to change the name to mine" .

After that, you give up a credit card to reserve or whatever. Pretty much basic deal then on. The addy for the motel is.........

    6075 N. Aircap drive
    Wichita Ks. 67219
    Phone: 316-744-2071

Directions for those that are coming is are pretty easy, Wichita ain't "that" big. Come in on I-135 and take exit 14. NOT hard at all. If yall need more info on how to get there, let me know.

    Track addy is

    1/2 mile W. of 61st N. & Ridge Road, Wichita Kansas
    Phone: 316-729-4448

I will get more specific info on that. I just pulled this from the site.

Also, it has been brought up about have a Q&A session Friday night after the BBQ. I know there are alot of folks out there that would like to race but just aren't quite "ready" to go diving in head first. So, I am thinking about putting together a "lesson plan" of sorts for a short session on basic bracket racing. More targeted towards the new racers out there, but not limited to them. I will recruit someone to help with this. And maybe even the more experienced guys can pick up a trick or two. :Brow: I may have a couple I could give away, but not all of them. Anywaysssssssss. Let me know what yall think about this idea. If there is even the most remote interest I will put something together. Not a long drawn out deal, just a little "show and tell" and field ANY questions that are out there. Remember, the only stupid question is the one not asked. This would be an apportunity to ask your questions, and get a straight forward answer. Just trying to do what I can to get some more Buicks on the track and racing. And remember, it isn't the fastest car that wins all the time. Ask Randy Messinger that..............High 13/low 14 second car.......3, countem', THREE, NHRA "wallys" to his credit. And proudly displayed in his trophy case. So speak up if there is some interest, and I will get ready. :Smarty:

Thats about it for now yall. As we go, more updates will follow. ANY questions, fire away and I will do the best I can to help out. Times getting short. Let's get ready to put "Buick assault mission 06' " in motion.

I was wondering what kind of mods are required to run this race? I've heard a lot of rumors around town about various things reqired to run at WIR (roll cages, helmets, slicks, etc). Nobody I have spoken with has agreed on any one thing that is required. I'm new to this kind of event, and I would like to make sure that my car passes Tech if I decide to run it. Does anyone know the requirements? :Do No:

    Hi Clint,
Go to www.teamwir.com then go to safety equipment, it will show what you need for your ET. If your car is mostly stock it will be the slower time. Just have that stuff on your car or available. You don't need the fancey stuff, like battery tie down, the stock one will be fine.

Don't you worrey we will get you down the track.LOL

    Later

For everyone else, finishing up with sponsors, need to get a couple more secured, then I will come here and let you all know just who exactly is stepping up to help is out. Same deal and usual, you ask 20 and hope to get 10, we're almost there. Yall will know shortly.

Also, have yall booked rooms ??? Better get on it. I need to put in a call and check status. And I have it from out local expert, Hi John, that there is another motel close by should we need it. The 8 ain't full yet I don't think, but it's getting there. Better get on the ball if you haven't.
