That YS trim is good for 1200Hp, is it the 10rib belt that is only good for 1000? Belts are mostly limited by the boost you have to push. The more boost you need for HP the more belt load there is. If you are making 600+ HP on motor than 1200 should only be @15 psi away if everything is right.

I think he likes the car to be HEAVY!! Have you heard it run yet David?? When will we see it out?? Let me know, I think we need to "line'um up"!! Blower vs. "squeeze", should be interesting..........I think I'm going to California Speedway on the 12th, racing from 9am to 6pm.......

Thanks for the pictures, but it looks like someone beat me to posting them.

    I like the setup.

What would be the difference of your "air box" and what other kits offer (tube to the carburator)?

    Michael,
In regards to a bonnet instead of Vortech box. I have yet to see anyone go fast with one. This kit with the bonnet comes with a ATI Procharger and I am not impressed by what I have seen. The kit that I heavily modified is a Vortech kit that was for a big block chevy. It came with the box, blower, tubing, etc. It only cost $2500.00 plus some other minor options to bring the total to around $3000.00. Of course, I had to have many brackets fabricated, but the overall product from Vortech is outstanding and they stand behind it as well. I originally was going to buy an F1R through Procharger and paid up front. 5 weeks later, still no blower, but plenty of excuses. If I actually do end up offering something, it will be all brackets necessary to take big block chevy kit and make it a straight bolt on to a buick. My new combo will probably be good for nine seconds at around 140 mph barring any breakage of my block, etc. As you can see from posted pictures, this set up has some serious hours into it and the craftsmanship is bar none. I don't think running high elevens with a blower on a 455 that should already run elevens is anything that I would be proud of. These cars can run high elevens on pump gas, full weight with a mild cam. I just don't think you get much bang for the buck with ATI products when it comes to our Buicks. My biggest problem with ATI is once again, the customer service stinks.

    Carb Hats.....

Yes, the box works fine. :TU:

ATI carb hats have given guys carb tuning problems. :Dou:

BUT, there are several guys make 1200+hp with this hat http://www.superiorairflow.com/extreme_velocity.htm and swear by them. Works very good with the carb and a clean simple setup. :TU:
Rich uses one and can tell you the difference over a ATI hat.

How much does it cost to put one of those in and does it have to bee a 455 or can it be a 350. and do they have the traditional one that are blower intake style just curious.

    350....

It should bolt on the 350 just fine since the heads have the same bracket bolt patterns and the crank pulley has the same bolt pattern as the 455. The power steering is the only area that may need special attention if you decide to use it. If you have manual steering then you should be fine. The 350 is a little shorter and not quiet as tall. SO it may help clearance with the power steering pump Dave has. Don't know for sure. :Do No: You can take a stock intake and mill the plenium out and use an adapter to run a Holley carb. OR just buy a TA intake and run it. :TU:

David-Looks awesome! I think you would get a good response if you were to sell the brackets to adapt to a 455. I know I would be interested in switching from the higher compression to a supercharger which is more street friendly. I'd like to see an intercooler set-up also to reduce the possibility of detonation. Looks really good Dave! :TU: :TU: Good luck! Keep us informed on how it works in the car.

    Yes,

The "EV" hat works well as does the "CSU" hat. Both of these hats have been tested to work beter than the box style enclosure due to less air turbulance.

My ati setup has been incooled for about 1 1/2 years now and the differance in consistancy is amazing......

Nitro71455 - How many pounds of intercooled boost were you running to get the 11.41@124 ?

I have about 8psi as I'm going through the traps, and about 10psi shifting at 5700 to 5800rpm.

Block is stock (halo girdle), stock rods, speedpro pisstions, home ported iron heads (first and only heads I've done) pretty much a stock motor with a blower.......

I was bogging off the line hard runing those times. due to the track busyness didn't have time to tune. I like to think the car had 10.90 in it in street trim due to what my 330ft's looked like when compairing them to some of my decent launched 11.5's runs at 5000ft.......

I don't think I am going to proceed with the blower brackets as my car will most likely be going on Ebay very soon.
