Hey guys. Last time I posted anything about my car I was running 11.20 on street tires at 126 mph with only seven pounds of boost (Vortech centrifigal) on pump gas. I just finished up building a new motor with Stage 2 Street Eliminator Heads ported by Greg Gessler, a blower cam and all kinds of other goodies. We are shooting for close to 140 mph at a high nine on a slick. I don't know what I am doing in terms of posting pics. If someone can volunteer, I will email pics
Wholly frijoles! That is so awesome. In one of the photos, you can see the oil filter housing, it looks custom. What is the scoop? Amazing work, super craftsmanship.
Thank you. I think the housing you are referring to is the power steering fluid remote resevoir. The scoop on the hood is the stage 2 buick scoop.
That is awsome are you running an intercooler? Did the mounting brackets come with the supercharger? Is the intake ceramic coated?
David Is the engine "tied down" other than the factory mounts? If not.......I'd suggest that before you run it
The car does not currently have an intercooler as I have almost run out of money. I have probably over $20,000.00 under the hood with all the R&D I have in the developing of the brackets and other issues that were tackled as well to make this work properly for a Big Block Buick. I also do not currently have additional tie down straps, but will have to do that because of the high hp this combo will be making. The intake is the way it came from TA. Would anybody be interested in blower bracket kit for stage two heads. I also have brackets for iron heads as well. If there is interest, I will be looking into getting these copied at a machine shop.
Welcome to the "Wonderful World of Supercharging"!!!!! Did you have more than one bracket made? Would love to see the layout.
I have the brackets for an iron headed motor handy, but am still toying with what I am going to do with them. The old motor made 814 lbs of torque to the wheels, so this new combo should be very nasty.
Dave, If it is possible, would you lay out the iron head brackets and shoot a pic? The setup would be very close to the sbb configuration and I need to make one that is a little more "professional" than the "Rube Goldburg" we have now. For the street setup we will be using a belt rather than the cog drive.
I am probably going to end up selling copies of the kit we made for iron headed and aluminum headed 455s, but I want to see how the new kit we developed for the aluminum headed kit works first. The kit that I am using has a 10 rib belt on a Vortech YS trim supercharger that will support 1000 hp.
