I always thought the '66 Riv GS came with a wood wheel, mine did. Judging by the photo here, and the fact yours doesn't have it, I guess I was wrong. Perhaps only with the deluxe interior. And I thought I knew it all about these cars!:ball:

Erik you are the man!! You came through with yet one more very interesting Riviera article. Keep them coming!!:Brow:
I met the owner of that car in Flint last summer, I recognized the tag. That car is prestine. Looks nearly identical to mine, except no a/c or bucket seats. Just out of curiousity, what publication did you get that article from?

Erik, I don't know where you are getting these from, but keep them coming! :beer I haven't been so intrigued with reading material in years!!!!:Brow:

I have been noticing that these cars are not perfectly correct specimens. The '68 wasn't even close under the hood, and it has a pinstripe that doesn't belong. That last '66 has those goofy Mopar type directional indicators on the front fenders and non-Buick hubcaps. I wonder if one of these guys would feature mine with the wrong motor in it?:Brow: Keep 'em coming, Erik! These are cool.
Joe, If you don't have it already, get on Ebay and buy the Riviera Performance Portfolio book. Awesome info. in it on Rivs from 63 to the late 70's. It is definetely worth the $17.
Joe, The wood wheel was available as an option on all 66 Rivieras (and Wildcats), GS or not, with the Custom or standard interior. It wasn't standard on any model. Also, the fast ratio steering did turn in about 3 turns compared to the standard that required about 3 turns. Did you check yours?
Leaf springs on Buicks were abandonned in 1938.... With two exeptions that come to my mind: The 1970-1996 Estate Wagons and the 1973-1979 Apollo/Skylark
