Sounds like me with my old engine. Sold it three times, bought it back twice so far.

What was the finished race weight on that car?

I'd put a 1.80 powerglide in it for consistency and index/bracket race the snot out of it.

Not sure on "plans" for the car yet. I'd love to bring it to BG, but it'll be near impossible without killing myself....... and then if I'm dead, what's the point? Lol!
It's going to sit for a while as I'm up to my neck in projects right now....... also two knee replacements scheduled for fall, so time is not on my side.
We'll see....... I'll figure out something!!! Lol!!

Good luck with the knee replacement, had my right one done last Aug, you be out of commission for a least 8 weeks.
But the pain is finally gone. I could post a pic of the day after but it is not for the faint of heart LOL.

My right knee is scheduled for August 16th and the left one 6 weeks after if everything goes to plan. Then up to 12 weeks off after that!
I have a lot of friends that had it done..... some bad stories, but mostly positive outcomes. I don't have a lot of choice..... living with the pain and limiting the things I can do has taken its toll.

I haven't taken possession yet. It'll be a few weeks. Even then I'm not planning anything with the car. It looks identical to when I sold it anyway!! Lol

Good luck with the knee(s) replacement. To give you a little encouragement, my father was in construction and both his knees were totally shot by the time he was fifty. He lived with it for 20 years afterwards until he finally bit the bullet and had BOTH knees done at the same time. The first couple of weeks were tough but he persevered and exactly 5 weeks after the operation, he was playing golf AND walking the course. Never had an issue from that point until his passing. Hope yours goes as well.

Pretty much the same experience my Mom had and also one of my techs (60 years old). Back to work week 3.

I tried to have the Doc do both at once, but he claims that the latest studies show better long term results when done independently, so he will no longer do them both at the same time, (bilaterally). He does 300-400 hips and knees per year and has been doing them for 14 years. He's very up on the latest and greatest processes and techniques, so I guess I have to put my trust in him. Besides.......... up to 18 weeks off of work could be a nice prelude into retirement!!! LOL!

My mom had both done simultaneously 2 years ago. They've served her well since then.
