1400-1500 I don’t remember off hand. I’m afraid to tally up all the receipts. LOL. A bit of cost over run. And yes Steve is an great guy to deal with.

Well as of last week block machining completed. Getting ready for balancing. He weighed the new piston and rod assembly’s and compared to the old ones. New piston and rod are 99 grams lighter total of 1.75 pounds lighter total. May have something nice under the tree this year.

AutoTec Pistons 14cc dish. With zero deck and the aluminum heads should put me in the 10.5-10.6 compression range.

If that ratio is with .042 fel pro blues, you can push it up around 11-1 with the .020 steels.:)

Looking to keep it pump gas friendly. 11-1 would be pushing it I would think

I thought w/aluminum heads you could push it to 11:1 (or more) on pump gas but others would know more that I do.

According to my machinist/builder he advises staying around 10.5-10.6 the extra .4-.5 won’t make that much of a difference in performance for a street car. With his 50+ years of experience I’ll just agree with him.

I’m running 11 to 1 now with irons, when I get my aluminums I going to 12 to 1 or higher

Spoke with my machinist. Cam thrust plate fitted to block. Block has been bored .060 over, lost 5 pounds. He polished the corners of the block where the oil drains from the heads so oil drains to the pan faster and de burred as well. He’ll be moving onto the heads next week and is making me an engine cradle.

    Neat
What has to happen for the thrust plate install?
And what does it do? Cam walk? Whats the advantage over a button?

For one I was told much easier to set clearance. Only thing that had to be done was machine the end of the cam. TA did it before shipping. My machinist said it’s a great piece, he’s very satisfied with the quality products TA produces for such a small market.
