The story isn't quite over..........maybe I can make the ending even better at the Nats in Salem!!
Flash back 2006 Nats Salem Ohio. I put down a 12.99 before my cam went flat. I didn't get to run in eliminations. The car sat and just last week I pulled her out of my brother's barn. After pulling off the intake and cranking the motor I found out 4 exhaust lifters were not spinning. I just ordered a Poston 116 cam and lifters and she'll be back on the road again!
any updates!? i still need to get my rearend done, such a dog now with 275s with stock 2.56 peg leg even with the new cam. 4v.a nd headers lol
Here's some old pics that date back a couple of years. I almost sold it a couple of times. I just let it sit for a couple of years while I concentrated on other projects. All in all it really got my blood flowing when I pulled out for the first time in a long time!
Here is a before shot back in the day when it was still a V6 car. I drove it to work every day for a couple of years. Now I'm working to get it back onthe road. I have a non-AC box to install for heat in these cold PA fall and spring days.
looks much better now, sleeper :TU: I will need to do something for a heater as well. Before I could finish saying keep the heater , wham, out goes the whole thing. if you think of it send a pic of your new heater...
Here are the pics of the nonAC box. I'm missing some under the dash ducting but I will show you guys some quick and easy ways to fabricate the missing pieces. You will find that Chevy El Camino's almost always have nonAC options. Try and grab everything, all the internal ductwork, levers, controls, the fan impellar and most importantly the glove box. I picked this box up on a trade so I'm lacking many parts that I will have to fabricate.
I've got a pic of the thing on my computron here of it from the '06 BPG Nats at Salem, with the Rallyes. Hmm... Davey, I don't remember you running at the Nats last year???
I sat out in '07. I rode the Eggers band wagon to Columbus. Quite literally everything I had was broke. You just never know what kind of a motor the next Regal will have......
crap, i gave my old elky away a few years back! should have kept some parts off of it! thanks for the heads up. lol, i'm so cheap we will probably just run the header collectors through the interior, then just toss a welding blanket over when its warm enough!
Really?? Whoops!! Sorry, guys! Wow, yeah... Joe, you and Dave could make some, *cough*, good money just driving the two of those things around on a Friday night. Just match up the wheels, and no one will know the difference. "No, dude, it's not even a Turbo V6, and it runs 12's!" LOL!!
Heck, I didn't even notice!!! You had me fooled.......Odds are that sooner or later the V6 is going to get yanked for a big block, turboV6, or a 350. Right now we seem to have a bunch of 350's laying around......but I've got to get this cam swap and heater box in and PTB finished! I'm a hard working son of a gun!
And here I was, thinking that I had seen a legend of a car in person. If I may make a suggestion, perhaps a hair-dryer 350 would be cool. Eh?
