So I am looking for a set of Moog 5399 springs. They are still listed on their site, but unavailable anywhere I looked. So I place a phone call to Moog, and the rep says they are obsolete. Only suggestion he had was to look for them at a NAPA store, being they have pretty big warehouses. Maybe there is a set on a shelf somewhere? The NAPA part number he gave me was 277-3197. Anybody got an in with NAPA Parts?

Did you check with Guy P? He owns a NAPA store.

We have 2 large(ish) NAPA warehouses here - One in Hunt Valley, MD & one in Laurel, MD.

Hoping maybe Guy can do a search of all NAPA warehouses.

My Pro-link account just says call store for availability.
Hopefully Guy can locate a couple for you.

No warehouses show them. A NAPA store would have to call jobber services to see if there are any anywhere, but I'm guessing no longer available and none left.

Good luck Larry. I had the same thing happen to me when trying to pull the trigger on springs for the Electra as Moog obsoleted those springs as well earlier this year.

I wonder if they can make a spring with the same specs as the Moog 5399. I may try them. Want to see how this plays out first.

I also now work at a Napa and I will see what I can find. I'll also do a cross check to see if they changed part numbers or something

Like I said in the Rock Auto closeout sale thread, Napa is dropping more old car parts faster than I can ever remember. Not good.
