The hole is bottomless but just about ran out of things to disassemble from the windshield forward .

I'm assuming your putting in all new control arm bushings and ball joints?

Yes and going with the 1 1/4” sway bar . Staying with rubber bushings. The bushings/ball joints that I removed had maybe 5 K miles

This pretty much concludes the forward disassembly. A little more firewall cleaning before painting .

Made some progress in last few weeks and reassembly has begun . A cage nut on the passenger side ( # 3 ) in the pass side door was welded into place and all passenger side bushings have been installed . The drivers side was lifted off the frame allowing removal of the bushings I’m changing the fuel line and that looks like a hassle . The fire wall was. Cleaned and painted and the HVAC boxes inside and out were installed after a thorough cleaning and going over .

Any one have success putting in new 1 piece fuel line with body raised up 4-5” above the frame , Tried going in from the rear and can’t see to get it over the rear. Would not want to cut it unless I exhausted all other option .

Still wrestling with the fuel /return lines . Ended up taking the tank out and trying to feed the line through the rear wheel well . The lines are from inline and should be very close to the originals . I'm hoping someone who has done this took some picts as the chassis manual digram is not very detailed from some angles .

Found this buried in the trunk lid sheet metal , managed to get it out in mostly one piece . My car came out of Alexandria Va so this repair receipt tells me the car probably spent its life in the N. Virginia area . Check out the date - I didn't have a drivers license yet.

Finally managed to get my fuel lines installed ( more or less ) and I'm looking for picts of the ones installed . I found picts of the lines installed on frame w/o the body, but I want to check the routing and with the clips installed and the body bolted to the frame. Any 68-69 GS or skylark with a boxed convertible frame would be useful . 1970-72 convertible's are probably very similar too . Any picts would be helpful as I'm ready to lower the drivers side and bolt it up.

Just an update, haven't posted in a while but ended up pulling the frame for other reasons. A little tricky lifting body in a tight space w/o a lift but possible. Some photos:

    Holy Smokes Rich,
I am impressed! You are going the extra mile for sure, and I hope you get to turn the corner and start putting it back together soon.
Big change from “masking it off and painting a few spots”.

I did a drivetrain clean-up a few years ago on the '72 Stage 1 I bought that had 98,000 original miles on it. Removed the radiator, shroud and fan and climbed in the engine bay for most of the work. Turned out fairly decent.
