Wife and I went to the pet store to get some wet food for our cat, I picked up 7 cans of Salmon, they had a picture of a lion on the front, I said to the wife “I think this is lion food” she rolled her eyes and said “ask the cashier that”
We got to the checkout and I asked “is this lion food, look at the picture” she chuckled and said “ no it’s not for lions”
Wife told the cashier “never mind him, he’s being an ass”:p:p DE08F215-605F-4C40-A61F-2340241353AD.jpeg

Makes sense to me. Why else would they put a lion on the can?

The only difference between a big cat and a house cat is size. I worked with a guy whose family had a pet lion. I have seen photos so he was not blowing smoke. They finally had to give it to a zoo because it just cost too much to feed. You don't want a hungry lion wandering around your house.

    LoL!

Wonder how much food.. I'm guessing 30 lbs of meat a day.
John you have lived in MA at different points in your life. Have you ever heard of Waltham Supermarket? They sold packages of horse meat and the label just said Pet Food.
It was shelved pretty close to the regular beef and pork meats. I think it was always in the frozen dept?? Wonder how many times customers made a mistake by buying the Pet Food:eek:

I loved the show "Big Cat Diary" and it hasn't been on for quite some time:(
It is amazing just how the only difference is the size. Even the little pads on the upper front of the front legs. I liked watching the show when my cat would be near me.. Mini lions:D
Also how a small feral cat can tear your face to shreds if provoked.

Brings something else up that I saw on a documentary.
A man in a self titled black hood in NY had raised a Lion from a cub in a one bedroom apartment.
How he managed to not be found out for years I don't know.
Talk about the best protection from robbers but this man did it for his love of lions they said. How he got so much food without suspicion I have no clue..

I have been to the Waltham Supermarket (on Main St if I remember correctly). I was born in the now long-gone Waltham Hospital. so I guess that I can say I'm a Waltham native. I have been a member of the Push Rods auto club (founded in Waltham but now relocated to Hudson, MA) since 1961.

BTW, one of the family members told me that the Lion ate about 25 lbs of meat per day. They would buy sides of beef or pork and butcher it themselves. They had a dedicated chest type freezer for the Lion's food in the basement.

    Yup Main St.
Worked in Watertown and in Waltham.
A place called "Queen Screw" and the old Waltham Watch company when the re opened a little section of the huge building but named Waltham Technology at that point.
When did the Waltham Hospital close down? I got a few stitches here and there from work over the years and can't remember what Hospital I went to??
I lived my whole life in Brookline and still do at times.

Max Damage I'm working on it!

I used to work in Watertown square in a little dumpy space above the Pizza parlor. I was there for about 6 years... It was a tech startup, those were the days. I remember I used to park in the registry of motor vehicles parking lot. There was a place around the corner called "Mark's spring street Pub" that had excellent steak tips.

Yep, them cat claws are NASTY, my cat will sit in my lap and paw/grip my hand, forearm while he nibbles on me, I’ve grown somewhat used to his nails (more like talons) and learned to NOT pull my arm away fast, just SLOWLY unhook his grip on my skin.
He was stretching by our kitchen window yesterday and his nails extended from his paws “HOLY CRAP CIRRUS YOU GOT EAGLE TALONS!”
    I’d never de-claw a cat tho, that’s their defense.

    Oh yes Watertown square..
Its been years since iv'e been there. Wonder how much its changed? Lots of Armenian and Greek grocery stores my Father and I went to..
Yup even the little guys claws can be nasty.. Learned also not to pull away while they play fully have you in their grip. Its not also the sharpness but the nail scratches also BURN. Need to google I guess to see if the nails have a certain chemical that make it also burn when scratched.
How about when your cat starts kneading it's front paws on your stomach or side:D

People who de claw a cat should not own one if they don't like things like their couches scratched. It is inhumane and painful for years for them:(

Our orange cat has some mean claws too, he will go up tree and then he will back right back down, sucker runs like a gazelle.
He has already captured a rabbit and had it for lunch, deadly.

It’s amazing when you think about our pet dogs and cats, they could take us out at any time, biting, scratching, ripping, tearing, but we love on them and they do the same to us, truly one of Gods gifts to us humans:D
