You cam will sound like a 'rattler, but make a whole bunch more HP.. we don't need all the exhaust duration with your STG 2 alum heads..

Man Gary, you must have had to use a shop vac to get the dust off those boxes..

Good retro stuff for someone building an iron head motor.

Brings me back to the days of the Mark 4 KB cam in the Brown car.. We had all that stuff..

Yeah Jim,there was some dust.I thihk I was 8 years old when I bought them,heh-heh.
Yep,that ol 107 NHRA cheater cam was great with iron heads, especially untouched,as required by NHRA. Not recommended with stage2 heads.
I used that mark4 for years in Thumper, what a great single pattern cam for iron stage 2's and easy on the valve train.thumper ran a best of 10.29 with that old cam and your right the sound was amazing.
We sure made do with that old stuff didn't we?

Gary, wasn't the 107 a Olds grind for nhra? W30? I like the valve covers, I wish I didn't have so many irons in the fire right now:idea2: Maybe they would be a great gift idea for the wife:grin: Chris

You are correct, the 107 grind was a W30 Olds grind originally developed by Eonic Cams in the Detroit area. A So.California Olds racer named Willard Wright gave one to Buick racers Chuck and Larry Capsel who had a Los Angeles cam grinder make a master of it to try in their Buick. They started running quicker than Dave Benisek and I and I finally found out why, it was about a tenth quicker than the K/B Mark C that we were running. We put one in our car and caught up with them immediately.
