    What ever happens, happens.......

Zack removed the whole intake with Carb as on item during the disassembly.

We didn't look at it much, I guess we should have verified if all the linkages were free from binding, but we spent more time chasing threads and trying to get some spare parts I had to install on the engine.

Is your throttle cable free from binding, lubricated?

Maybe your carb throttle return spring is too weak?

I know your Carb dashpot was broken, I have spares too!

Since that Carb. was a different version of the Rochester 2 bbl. from the Jeep Gladiator/Wagoneer version, we found out, is there any binding in the links of the Carb itself? Remove all the throttle cable clip and disconnect the themostatic spring rod from the carb and check for good free play no binding.

    Hope that helps,
    Mac

I got some Carb-101 today from the local guys. We had some wacky vacuum crap going on, but the remedy to the immediate problem was the throttle return spring.

New spring and it purrs like a kitten.

    thanks all and especially Mac
