I have only attend one Texas event due to work, the car, family etc but I would really try to make it no matter where in the state it is.

I would make every effort to attend and maybe help out if needed.
Being in San Antonio area now, we are much closer to the "rest" of Texas than we were before.

    Of course I'll be there!

The old Lone Star GSCA events used to draw well over 100 cars back in the day.
Don't know why it still couldn't be done.

Back in 2005 - 2007 the "Buick Bash" as it was called, had been held at the track in Temple, TX.
I remember about 60 to 75 Buicks attending. What a blast!!
Phil headed that deal up. After a few years the events were moved around the state each year.
Rusk, San Antonio, Temple, and Ennis. Since Temple, the attendance had surely dropped. Even after accomodating requests to switch tracks and mix it up a little.
Last time David and I attended the "Buick Texas Nationals" last year, at the nicest track around ONLY about 10 Buicks showed up. :Do No::Do No::Do No:

I hope everyone REALLY makes an effort to attend...... There has been to many poor showings lately.
I know there are TONS more Buicks in the 4 major city area !!

This event used to be lots of fun back in the day.

    Hell yea , we'll be there !!

We stayed in Fredericksburg a few months during our move, and there were car cruises all the time to Lukenbach. There was an olds group, pontiac, Shelby, VW. Might be worth a try for some Buicks.

How about a Texas Buick Facebook page?

There's already at least 3 Buick Facebook pages.
Buick Boys, DFW V8 Buick, and of course Lone Star Performance Buick.

I would love an event at little river/academy(temple). I really like that the track has shade. Though I would try to attend no matter where it is held.

Would be Fun!! Miss the days of the Mini Nationals & The Buick Bashes.
I had a Blast running Frank's Wildcat convertible @ that Cow Pasture Strip around Ft. Worth/Waco or where ever it was.
Just had to watch for Cow Patties in the shutdown area. The Motel parties were usually pretty Good as well, W/O any problems.
Whether I have a car or not, I'd be up for it.

I would attend if it was a far south as Austin. I raced at little river in temple last month, and i have to say,i am in love with that little track! Of course i would be biased to Ennis or Crandall. Or any DFW track because i live here.
Temple is about as central as you can get for Texas, and easier to get than any ihra or nhra track.

Academy Dragway in Little River is a very cool little track. It's hard to find a shady track.

There does seem to be interest on this forum and TB.com and that's great. One thing I would ask of eveyone here is spread the word post it up anywhere and everywhere.

We are only in the pre planning stages at this point but we need to get people talking about it. We even had one out of state heavy hitter on TB.com show interest. And yes out of staters are welcome.

I hope to have a date and track finalized soon. Stay tuned.

I don't know when these normally occur within the year.
Late April, early may or late October early November are good for me!

The only thing i can see wrong with little river is the cars running faster than130mph..you need good brakes if they let us run the full quarter. Other than that i would love to get back there!
