FOR SALE..BUT FIRST..I need help in identifying these 4 vintage, unrestored nice chrome factory shifter handles, so I know what I'm selling..ALRIGHTY THEN? Here is GROUP A pix, the first of 4: PHP: ANY help is much appreciated! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Re: HURST shifters for sale: GROUP B pix: btw, this one is quite difficult to read the stamped p/n..COULD BE: either a X141 or a 141X ? even the last number 1, I am not sure of. SO, I placed measurements for identity help...? Anyone?
Re: HURST shifters for sale: GROUP C pix: fairly easily to identify I would think? This one is in excellent unrestored condition and I 'believe" I got it from a 68 GS 400 NON console car???? maybe??
Because these are bolt on handles, would'nt that make them aftermarket types? Arent the factory equipped handles a slip fit?
:TU: :TU: Good point! The Buick and Olds and maybe Pontiac had the clip in type and Chevolet bolted in, not 100% sure, AL.
I'M interested in the group C handle... looks close to a 5335 which is unobtainable.....there probably just aftermarket hurst handles..and I think you can still get them from hurst.... let me know....:TU: :TU: :TU:
Corvette- yes. Years- various? Have the same shifter, same number and it came back to a 64-67 'vette? How does it compare to a 5335?
GROUP F pix: Guys..PLEASE dont fight over this next one.... I know TONS of peeps are looking for this, but only ONE will get it....Need I say...yes, its a Hurst 5335. Clean Hurst letters... slight rusty scale under the boot area...a good resto shop can fill and make it look new...definately needs restoring...NOT CHEAP $265 plus s&h. I will listen to REASONABLE OFFERS....
George...the 5335 handle is about 4 inches taller than the 2705 Vette handle prolly because the vette seats are much lower and the hump is higher. o No: Would be my guess anyway. :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
here's a 7236....:idea2: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hurs...008QQitemZ180276014190QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
Hey BOP..THANX a bunch! I've had most of these shifters since the mid 80's... so I was only 'assuming'...(there ya go!) that these were factory originals. MY BAD for assuming stufff...altho, THAT is exactly why I posted this request to this group in the first place. To find out for sure what these really are before I made an absolute dufus of myseff. Again, THANX for saving my face. Now I can AND WILL, list them as what they really are. If anyone is interested in ANY of these shifters, I am open to reasonable offers based on the knowledge we've all just learned. :3gears:  :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Wheelz, here is a picture of the shifter I have. It is numbered 7236. It doesnt look like a replacement handle, it looks old like the shifter itself?
Scott..shifter 7236, as I have learned from 'BOP4Speed' , is an aftermarket, Hurst replacement shifter for various mid 60's-early 70's musclecars...(see reply #14) AND if you look at the pix in my GROUP 'C' as WAY above, they are identical to your latest pix. Same part number. :Brow: G'luck with the sale! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Looks like you got a great deal when I sold it to you:eek2: Guess I should have sold it to someone that actually needed it: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=151279 :af:
54Rich....I dunno why you make me feel I must defend myself. You offered a shifter, AT your price, I bought it. DONE DEAL. When I bought your handle, it was going into my 70 4 speed car...since then I bought a complete correct restored shifter I will use. So, in my defense, yes, I DID need it. Now I dont. Whats the big deal? Your reply suggests you've never bought something you needed, then decided to go a different route and sold whatever it was you originally bought. o No: Believe it or not, stuff like this happens all the time. Why are you singling me out here? o No: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
