Hemmings American Muscle. Just got done reading my third copy (December Edition). This is probably the best muscle magazine I have seen for a long time. Anyone else seen it? Haven't seen any posts on this thing yet.

If you don't have it... get it.. $12 for 12 Months.. You got to be kidding. You won't be sorry. Seems Our Buicks are getting quite a bit of attention there.

Seems there are profiling alot of cars that never get the attention they deserve.

If you are a true American Muscle car guy.... this one is a keeper!!

By the way, I believe they said the RIV will be featured in an upcoming issue as well!

    I vote yes!
With the pi$$ poor selection of car mags at most of the newsstands in this area, I felt I struck gold a couple weeks ago while in Iowa and spotted the Hemmings magazine at a grocery store.
Well written, good photography, and a pledge by the editor to focus on the cars that don't get a lot of press. Buicks being one of them.
I've sent my subscription in! :TU:

  5. Jeff, what is it you don't like about the issue? I haven't seen one, and am contemplating signing up for it, based on several guys positive comments.

I just found a copy and I think it is a nice magazine.Good color articles,a feature on a 66 Wildcat GS and another on a buick restorer, editor page said lots more Buick features coming including a 74 GS Stage1 and Riv's.I am sending my $12.00, at that price if you just liked a couple of issues a year it is a bargin.

:Do No: What's not to like? I'm happy with the issue I got so far. I don't expect a ton of technical how-to's for $12/yr.

    My experience thus far...

I signed up for the HMN magazine trial in June.

    No magazine in September

Received invoice in October (for the magazine that hasn't arrived yet)

Contacted HMN customer support by e-mail.

10/10 contacted by customer service. They will send out the first issue again.

Last Thursday, new invoice arrives, still no magazine

It's really hard at this point to give them a chance.

  9. Wow Marco, sounds like they really have your sub screwed up. Did you receive any issues between June and now?

David I've only seen the one issue, Nov. That not a whole lot to judge on yet. I'd say for only $12, you should go for it.

I'm not really going to get into all of the things that bothered me, there was too many. I'll just say that it wasn't very well put together or stimulating, IMO. There was a good article on Bill Baylis (GS restorer and racer) and the Chassis Dynameter article was good also. But the article on 66 Wildcat GS vs 70 Rebel Machine was just a dumb matchup, enough said. All of the 1-2 page columns were either boring or just plain stupid. But for only a dollar apeice, :Do No: :Do No: keep it close by the toilet.

Order up a introductory (FREE) issue and decide for yourself. You have 10 days to decide whether or not YOU like it.

edit: I guess they arn't doing this anymore.:Dou:

I've only received two invoices since I signed up.

Hopefully things will iron themselves out. It sounds like a good magazine. Maybe one day I'll find out first hand

  15. Jeff, thanks for explaining a little more. Always like to hear opinions on new stuff like this. Dale is mailing his issue to me to have a look at. Thanks Dale!

This afternoon I looked at a Hemmings but couldn't find any mention of it with a quick glance, and there were no cards inside to sub to this new mag. You would think they would put sub cards in Hemmings for both publications.

I'd be more than just a little PO'd if someone was "intercepting" my mail. Maybe you should put in a formal complaint with your PostMaster?

I just figured it got lost.

At this point, I don't believe my postman is reading my Hemmings magazine.

On the other hand, the postal workers must be reading my GS-X-Tra's 'cause it's always 3-4 weeks late
