    Duane.
I enjoyed the talk, and look forward to the GSX reunion. I'll try hard to get GSX 585 (the Hawaii GSX) back together and looking respectable again.

    Thanks Again

Duane , what kind of entry fee is associated with the reunion ? Is there anything special we will do or is anything planned yet ? Just curious what all will be happening .

These details are still being worked out, we do have a few ideas, but input from those who plan on participating would be most welcome.

There are no "extra charges" just to participate in the reunion, only the normal entrance fees.

    Mike,
The only cost associated with the GSX Reunion would be the entrance fee for a spectator, which I believe is $20 for non-members and $15 for members per day. (I will verify the amounts.)

This gets the owner/driver, plus car through the gate and into the reunion. You also get a commerative License plate for the event, as long as you bring a car. The rules are easy, 1 car gets 1 plate, 2 cars get 2 plates. Plus you get to enjoy everything else going on at the event for the entire day.

Now if you so desire, you can also enter the cars in either the Concours or Street/Driven classes of the car show. If you do this you would pay the costs for entering the car show, and will have the possibility of earning a car show award along with the commerative GSX Reunion License plate.

As far as "is anything special .....planned yet" I take it you mean above and beyond the event itself. Well many of the guys have asked me to go over their cars personally, to help verify correct parts etc, so they will be bringing their cars to the event on Friday as I will not have the time to do it on Saturday (show day). We will probably also have some type of "Restoration Clinic" on Friday which may turn out to be basically the whole day. (With so many examples to choose from it should be easy.)

The club is also considering having a dyno available for Friday and Saturday (once the car show is finished) plus there will be Racing, the Car Show, and everything else we normally have.

I believe that between everyone talking/looking at the cars, plus whatever the (hopefully) Magazine people need, as far as pics etc, we will easily fill up the better part of a morning/early afternoon.

Remind me... 75 out of how many total GSX's made and the %.

I'm thinking that it's getting close to 20%.

    Mike,
They made 846 cars during the 70-72 model years so we are approaching 10%.

If you figure half of them being gone, then we are getting close to 20% of the ones that are left. That's an incredible figure when you take into account the fact that some people own more then one and can only bring one car, plus some owners live so far away that it's hard to bring a car to the event.

The owners bringing their cars are making a serious commitment as far as both time and money, and I commend them one and all for doing it.

Duane,I agree that the number of cars that hopefully will be attending is 20% which is amazing. Whatever it is, people or things, a rule of 10 usually applies. With the aforementioned amount that will be attending(which would be above the rule of 10),I would say it would be an excellent turnout.

I know I have more than 10 years of dedication to discovering how many Buick GSX exist and who owns them which pales in comparision to the time Duane and many others have been intersted and promoted the Buick community. The idea of a Renunion has been in my mind for several years and I seriously cannot even fathom 75 Buick GSX in one place at one time. That is larger than many small town car shows I have attended.

Being a GSX owner for many years I can tell you that I have typically been the only GSX, sometimes been one of a couple, never have I been more than a few and usually I am the only Buick at the events I have attended.

It will be a sight unparrelled in my GSX experience.

I'm happy to have one to bring. I'd also like a suggestion for the preferred hotel for the GSX guys. Maybe you already said that but I didn't register it yet. It's time for the 75 to make and confirm their hotel stays.
