Hey Mark, what EFI kit would you recommend?

    Oh, another Mark question...

I know this is probably on over simplified question, but I'm no turbo guru. If the same amounts of boost can be attained weather you use one or two turbos, then what are the advantages or disadvantages of either setup? There is of course the cool factor of having two I guess...

    depends on youre intentions...
2 turbos of same specs over one makes less work per turbos at total psi...
two turbos, if sized differently can completely eliminate turbo lag(not really needed for v8 due to lowend torque)...
a huge single can just be for a top end monster and nothing down below.. (say for 1/4mi. sized to kick in after 60 feet)
small single will spool quickly for launching but may not due much for topend

its all in how you want to setup the system for what you intend to use the car for

Yup, that's about it. Packaging is also a factor. It is harder to fit a single that will support 1000hp than smaller twins that will support 1000hp.

I know of a 350 that can handle 20 psi as well LOL.

If you want maximum power for a turbo setup and E85 fuel check out the FI post!!!

If you want something cheap and easy, try googling EZ EFI or retrotek speed.

I am not familiar with any of them enough to make a recommendation of one over the other. I guess it is just a balance of features vs cost.

Anybody here ever run one of these 350-2 cars down the track stock to see what they do? Mine is slow but it's also tired and needs a lot of work, so just curious what a stocker in good running order does.

    I ran high 15s with a bone stock worn out 350 2bb in a Regal 3500 pounds.

Then I home ported the heads, added a TA 310 cam, Poston 4bb intake, headers, 2.5 duals, and a Holley 750 carb it ran 14.10.

Next I added a perimeter plate 150 shot of nitrous and spun the radials to 12.91s. The engine was still stock other than the cam and head porting.

I had the same combo 10.25:1 pistons (minus the NO2) as above in a Regal but, sounds like I had better luck.....that and 3000 stall (too much) and 3.73 gears and a 1000 CFM Thermoquad and ran the tune of 13.20, shifting at 6500 RPM. I put the same motor in my Skylark with factory converter, 2.73 gears and can run the entire quarter in 2nd gear at 15.10.

Yeah, nothing special about my times but respectable for a stock low comp 350 with a cam and headers.

Stay tuned for the Twin Turbo Skylark...

Who you talk'n bout Willis:puzzled: With no knowledge at all I got my first turbo setup accomplished at twice the amount as marks current twin kit and raced it at every event at our track and took 4th place for the season. Then I bought Marks first twin kit and had the stupidity to stay on the throttle from the 1/8 mile when it started to ping severely all the way to finish of the 1/4 mile and broke a piston. I rebuilt the engin and fixed the Air fuel ratio issues and on 4psi most of the run the 4200 pound stock stall 3.73 gear 26" tire ran 60'=1.922 1/8=7.866 MPH=91.46 Lifted hard before mile per hour cones I think it would have been about 7.75 @ about 94. According to my desktop dyno to go 91 mph in a 4200 lbs car I needed to make 575 hp. 1/4 mile would be about 11.5 taking into account for the high mph to et factor. My point is that if a 455 can do that on 4psi then I think on 9psi a 350 should easily come close to 500 hp and eat most of the BBB's(400hp) out there. I think it is possible to tune these turbo setups without all the fancy stuff just make sure you let of the gas no matter what if it starts to ping and go home and take some timing out and give it more fuel:Smarty:

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that a I cruzed the skymaro from that point on and other than the occasional loss of traction when unwanted the car was so street worthy that I took it out more than my 69 flame car. I even took it on about 5 or 6 50 mile cruzes. And if I can keep my foot out of it, it gets the same mileage it did when it was a non turbo car.
