Just to let you guys know if you didnt already, edelbrock will be releasing aluminum cylinder heads for the big block buick. You will be able to buy these heads through summit. Edelbrock will be releasing these heads in march. Some specs are 68cc combustion chamber 215cc intake and 130cc exhaust. You will be able to buy them assembled or bare. assembled will retail for around 1600. If you have any other questions about these heads or parts that summit would carry just send me a pm.

Do they know how they will flow compared to T/A's Stage 1 SE heads?

Hmmm, guess I'd better keep saving my pennies for a pair of those T/A SE1's.

Summit has them listed for $899.50. If they are going to sell these that price will have to be lower than that.

Forgot how to spell sell, its edited now.

    Dont knock it

How can you knock sumthin you havent seen. Ive been reading the other thread edelbrock hasnt even been given a chance to prove themselves. I have heard alot of people knock aluminum stage1 because you can go just as fast with steel heads. If you dont have the rite combination you will no go fast i have seen people with stage 3 that cant out run a stage 1. Let them come out see what comes of them and them complain but ill garuntee there will be someone who will out run a ta head with the edelbrocks

    Any Head!

Any head is no better than the porter. If you think you can order a set of heads for a Buick and bolt them on and go fast, I think you are confused. Like Bigdawg70 says, there are people with Stage 3's that can't out run ported iron heads. Any head you buy needs work and money spent on it to go fast and make power. The better the porter and the more he does and knows the faster you will go. So I would say not to judge the Edlebrock heads until the right poeple get ahold of them and then we will see. Some of the people I race with will buy Indy heads for their Mopars and bolt them on a big cube engine and wonder why my Buick with iron 67 heads and a hydraulic cam will run as fast or faster. They don't know how much Charlie has down to make them run. So lets be thankful that we have choices and glad some one else besides TA are making us parts.

gymracer01 is right, these heads havent even been released yet. Let some good head guys get a hold of them and work them over a bit and see what the results are. If you were wondering bare castings will retail for 699.50 through summit.

I love TA, but for the prices mentioned above, I would consider a set of these Edel's. A good set of irons cost 1 grand or more used and I would much rather have alum. ones. So, I would go out on a limb and possibly buy them then get a little port work done to see what they will do. I am sure the TA's are better though. You pay for what you get.

Thats $699.50 EA. Bring em on, lets see them run and then I'll make my call. I think they will be fine for a street guy. I highly doubt they will make a great race piece. I don't know why people on knocking Edelbrock here on this board, I have always had great luck with my Chevy stuff. I will say as for the Buick stuff they have put out in the past it has been pretty much garbage. Lets see!

What does Edelbrock make for a BUICK ? What does Summit and Jegs carry for a BUICK?
"My support will be with TA and other Venders that have spent money to make parts (GREAT PARTS!) for the big block BUICK . AMEN ! "

I dont think that edelbrock heads are for the hardcore buick racer. I think that they will be great for a street/strip head. If you had them ported they'll flow even better then what they claim. Also think that they these heads are lighter than cast iron.

    entry level

Edelbrocks head are entry level heads for sum1 who wants the weight savings and still compatible with all there stage 1 equipment . If you look at all of there products most of there stuff is not all out race products it is for the budget minded builder. stage 1 stage 2 stage 3 says it all depending on the performance your looking for you step up. bottom line these heads arent made for all out racing but im sure they would be perfect for a 11second street car

    Ta

TA's stage 1 se's are a entry level head not a race head. Chris

I have nothing against Edelbrock. I've used them alot back in my chevy days and was always happy with their products...

But the Bill's statement is VERY true. You can't hardly find the word "Buick" in a Summit or Jegs catalog.
I will be buying anything I can from places like TA, Poston, etc... to help support them.
I know it's nothing big.... but I just bought 2 sets of 455 header gaskets from TA 2 weeks ago. I could have got them anywhere, and probably for a little less $$, but I'd prefer to support their efforts!
