I was wondering how many Families get involved in Buicks? I was always into cars because my Dad grew up and went to High School in the 60's. I don't personally remember any of his cars being too little, but I certainly inherited his love for them. He never had a car to work on (for fun). The closest he got was restoring a 72 Ford F-100 that he had managed to keep since he bought it in 1973. This was done as a project between he and I do that I would have something to drive when I turned 16. So drive it I did, until I was 23. That was a great truck. While I was away at school, I got a call from him telling me that he had bought a BUICK! Now I always knew that he wanted a muscle car, but I always assumed to replace the two 67 Chevelle SS396's he had back then. We always eyed the big names at car shows, especially the chevelles. Now a BUICK. He told me the story about his buddy in high school had one and.... long story short he has never looked back. That was 10 years ago. When it came time for me to buy my first car (to enjoy), Dad couldn't stop telling me about how much nicer the Buicks are than the others. To use the exact phrase, "Going Fast with Class". I looked at some other cars and new I wanted something not so popular (i.e. chevelle, camaro, mustang). I always came back to the buicks. Now, I am the one not looking back. I am soo proud to be apart of this group and a proud owner of my buick. Here are a few pictures of my Dad and I's cars together.

Let's here from some other families out there.

    Family thing

Well, you said all that pretty well. And it will be interesting to see how many other Buick 'families' will post. All I can add is that it's a real treat having a 'chip off the old block' who also enjoys working on and driving these great cars!

It's just hard to believe it's been almost 10 years since I bought mine! My how time flies was you're having fun and going fast with class! Oh yeah, some first class Buicks friends too!

    GREAT!!!

I am sure my dad will chime in here, but I will let the cat out of the bag. Mom has a 99 Regal GS.

And my wife has said that she does like the way the 70 GS's look, :Brow:

That is great to see. A husband and wife team of buicks is a perfect match, :TU:

Oops! Forgot to mention that! And I even raced her car for the first time at the 1/8th mile track last weekend. Told her she needed some slicks to get better traction!

I don't have any pics currently, but I think the Buick thing started with my mom's '62 Skylark convert 215 V8, 4bbl 4spd, which she got in 64 and still has today!

    Since then I've had:

    66 Skylark (1st car)
    72 GS350
    71 GS455
    70 GS350 (coming soon)

    Dad had:
    65 Skylark convert
    70 GS455

The reason I've got my GS is dad had a 67 back in 68. He use to street race it (never lost to a GTO). Some years back he found the drop-top down in WY on a buisness trip, and tryed to get the guy to sell it. Kept trying every few months for years, then it shows up in the Billings paper. So we run down and get it. Three years ago Mom desides that she can't drive it anymore so they sell it and I bought it:cool:

I completely forgot to note that my father's, father worked in the local Buick Garage while my dad was growning up. so I guess that's where he picked up his Buick passion.

My dad started off with a 51 Super Coupe. Everyone in the neighborhood had a Chevy or Ford Sedan and my dad always had a big, buick 2 door. 61 Invicta 2 door hardtop, 65 Wildcat Convertible(Bamboo cream with a 425!) and a 69 Wildcat coupe with sport wheels, 430 and a posi.(code 59 lime green)

The 1969 is still in his garage with 54000 miles, a few paint nicks and the ability to light em up. (Dad is in his 70's and still enjoys torque)

My older brother owns a 69 GS 400 coupe, 68 Riviera Gran Sport and a 1987 Regal Turbo T with all sorts of expensive stuff under the hood.

My sister's first car was a 1970 Skylark Custom Coupe with the 315hp 350. She currently drives a 99 Regal GS.

Me-learned to drive in sis' Opel, bought a 73 Regal with a 455 at 15 and have just kept buying Buicks ever since.

I guess that qualifies for a Buick family!

The `79 was given away to a friend at the local golf course by my Grandfather after he lost my Grandmother.

I bought it for 1$ years later from the same guy :TU:

    Buicks in the blood

Both of my grandfathers drove '70 Buick Electra's. Here is a picture of my dad's '64 Riviera-425, dual quads and some nitrous. My brothers '66 Skylark-430 and my '87 Turbo T - 11.76@116. Dad is also doing a frame off on a '70 GS and in the future I hope to do the same to my '70 GS 455 conv..

    Like father like Son.

Guess I fall in this catergory, My dad's dad orignally had my dads GN... once he got that, thats when dad went back to his HS days and traded in the mud tires for slicks. Then when I was 15, bought my first car which is my 81 regal. I'm now 19 and live half way across the state now (college)... but thank God for night time minutes on cell phones, cause there is never enough Buick stuff to talk about. This is about the only picture I could find of our cars together. Its about 2 years old. The semi now sits outside and our 74 stage one and new tow vehicle (02 GMC seirra 2500HD crew cab 8.1L  ) took its spot... and some how the 02 WS6 fits in there too.
