  1. 69GS400s

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

Duuude - you landed SmackDabCenter in one of the biggest BUICK hotbeds in America :beers2:

The StrongIsland Buick crew (Hey ...Brooklyn is on Da Island :TU: ) is at least 20-30 deep and most of us are part of a larger group - the NorthEast GS/GN Club (250+ members) which is the Oldest Buick performance club in the country !!

...Your in safe hands. Now the question is "How fast do you want to go ??"

I joined the NE club in '93 when I bought my 69 GS400 Convert. Back then it was a nice driver but a bit tired both in body and soul (motor/drivetrain). Now its a 'Ripper !!

Next Wed. We'll all be leaving for the Buick Performance Group HorsePower Nationals in Ohio - Im driving BigRed out (11 hour trip) and will race it a few times ....put it in the car show ... and (hopefuilly) drive it home  :Dou:

No Need to "join" anything right now - come out and meet whoever's out on one of the nites and START TALKING BUICKS !!

Ima check you guys out...thanks...as far as how fast...hummmmm...I would be happy if I could get a 0-60 in 5 sec. or less a lil' less would be ideal...(maybe far fetched on a small budget)..but if its possible to do it over time..i'm ok with it..

I'm not an expert, just a regular Buick guy that has been messing around with these cars since 1975. Back then I was like you, didn't know much except what I learned in Auto Shop in High School. That didn't stop me, I just started reading (Get a Chassis manual for your car). Then I just started working on my car. I made plenty of mistakes and so will you. Back then, I didn't have the resources of this Bulletin Board, there was no such thing as the internet. One of the guys on this board nicknamed me "The Wizard", it kinda stuck. I guess because I've helped a few guys solve some problems and avoid others. I still make mistakes, and I'm still learning.

Get your Buick out to one of the cruise nights, and I'll look it over. I'll help if I can.

tlivingd BIG BLOCK, THE ANTI PRIUS

this happened to a buddie of mine but he lost a lot of performance when one of the baffles inside the muffler broke off and lodged its way against the exit pipe nearly completely blocking the exhaust outlet. maybe something to consider too.
