No, I had a feeling that something wasn't right and double-checked it....
It's a 340 engine, like I typed in an earlier post:

But now the NL Engine Code you found there is a wee bit strange....

It makes more sense to me if it's a 340 engine, because of the intake manifold.
(And also the fact that the model year 1967 4 drs HT sedan came with the 340 engine)

Please check the NL Engine Code again.
Not on the intake manifold, but on the driver's side of the engine !!!

Here's a scan with block casting numbers:

the code/casting numbers condition look old and orginal

the "NL" looks "newer", i mean it looks not absolutely new, but like someone stamped (both NL) anywhen again.

i cant believe, but it looks like this.

what do you think? the car was produced, not imported, in switzerland.

    I say it's a 340.

Because of the casting number which is right for a 340 engine block, and also the casting number for the 340 intake manifold that will not fit on a 300 engine.

And besides all that, the 340 was the right engine for this model :TU:

NL is also 1967 340 engine code.

I have three books saying NL is the engine code for the 1967 300 2 barrel, and Stephan also has this booklet in his car saying the same thing...?

    also in my manual!

    and, i have a 2-speed transmission !??

do you think this transmission would/could work mit a 340 ?

    now im confused.

are you sure, because my owners manual says NL=300-2bbl

Yes that is true too. NL was used for at least some of both 340 and 300 blocks in the 67 model year.

If I cannot clear up the confusion I at least like to make the confusion clear.

a last question from a "beginner" like me:

whats the difference of this two models?

    -Model 44439-Four-Door Hardtop (V8)

    -Model 44469-Four-Door Sedan(V-8)

The hardtop model came with the 340 V8.....:spank:

But didn't I already answered that question in one of my posts ?

The 4 drs sedan has a pillar in the middle when you open the windows.
The 4 drs hardtop has no pillar.
