    depends

i cant speak for others but i know my freinds blue car with his new motor is not filled his other motors usually are. as far as oil pan he uses stock modified oil pans to just for extra oil capacity. I understand why people say use them but if a block is weak how can adding weight and stress to it strenghtin it. I have seen many people wit girdle and main caps demolish there motors. Chris I lookd at the pics of that motor if i remember correctly i seen on another post where you said you knew the motor had known problems so how can you fault the block? years of beating on a motor is expected. Any motor can only stand so much detonation and poor oiling how could a girdle have save that? :Dou:

    Here's a few thought's...........
Can you afford to do it again if your Motor fails??

Do it now and if something goes wrong,You'll know you did all you could.

If choose not to,And it does come apart,You'll be wondering if it would've been OK with a Girdle.....

    I went low 10's in a 3200lb car w/o a Girdle and felt safe........
Most recently I've run mid 9's NA at 3430lbs w/ a Girdle and have not had so much as a bearing problem w/ 7000RPM on regular basis.

    600hp?

If you look at what I said, his combo should make 600hp to 625hp without sauce, 600 to 625 is not going to hert if build correctly. My engine that broke the main saddle was just plain tired, every other part in that engine is going into another old block that has fresh machine work. The only oil mod was TA cam bearings and a half fill of hard block. I wonder if internal balancing would have kept it going :Do No:I try to keep up to speed on who's running fast with a buick, light or heavy so alittle more info if you could would be helpful. I don't think I said 600hp is the breaking point or I wouldn't have been running my combo :Do No: I have 2 brand new stroker's this season for my car that both have girdles, first one has a main girdle the other has main, halo and lifter girdles. I don't build them to blow up, due to the fact A)I don't have deep pockets B) Why wall the car or worse hit the guy in the other lane just to say you did it without a girdle. As in life in general, the rule may not apply to everyone but common sense should get use :TU: Chris

Well like i said before chris we can agree to disagree!!!! What you can consider common sense i consider a waste of money  !!! But like i said before seeing is believing so come to norwalk and watch the show!!!! Ive been on this website for almost 3yrs now and alot of what ive heard that cant b done i see done all the time. Right now im pushing to go in the 9's with a 3800lb car with a stock aluminum rockers and basically stock motorthey said it couldnt be done well im 2tenths off from proving them wrong!!!!! So see you in norwalk :3gears: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Well I got a problem

My machine shop cant machine the caps for the girdle and I'm gettin ready to get the thing going,so unless I find a block thats already done here in the southeast,I'm going ahead without the girdle. Is the Poston pan even worth the effort? WANTED:BLOCK WITH GIRDLE IN THE SOUTHEAST tx Fish
