Looks like an interesting one! I am in Utah this week and not scheduled to get back to CO until just after noon on Saturday. I think I may have to make that an earlier flight...

Thanks, Jim, for the heads up!:beer

Someone needs to get that 67 Special, it has the GS wheel moldings. It also appears to have nice sheetmetal, including the quarters. It should also have a GS grill and moldings, trunk trim, etc. :3gears:

Strubbe family lives in Brighton. I'm 45 min away; might be able to sneak over to the pre-auction viewing. could be a lot of picked over garbage, or maybe not ???

Speedway Auto Wreckers is So. West of there and unfortunately closed because the owner/operators were too old or died. still lots of cars! they should have an auction cuz nothing but rust and dust out there now.

Google map: 4450 County Rd 12, Dacono, CO. Satellite view will show you all the cars. Street view also available, the picked-over Buick section is near the road on the west side of the houses.

If I had the $$ and the place to put them I would so get some projects. 65 GS, 67 Special, rivs, A100 pickup, 70 Lemans, 70 Skylark. Etc Etc.
I could have my fill of project for the rest of my life.

What a shame this could not be wider publicized. Too late now. Would love those Boattails, Opel GT.

You're killing me Mike, killing me. Nice set up. Wish I had that kind of set up. I want that 71 Riviera, an Opel GT. Heck, I like the Ramber Americans. With the remote location, it's hard to say - many may be crushed.

I was at Speedway a couple months ago. The guy is old, but still alive and kickin (at least as of two months ago!), but you had to make an appointment to get into the yard. They don't ever answer their phones. I just kept driving by every week or so until I saw someone behind the locked up gate. He was not the owner, but a friend of the owner, and he got me in. Lots of Buicks in there....nothing exotic and not much in the 65 to 72 era of any worth, but I spent a couple hours roaming around the lot. They do have a couple VERY big dogs roaming around as well!:eek2: Found out they really just like to play fetch though.:TU:

I was there in early 2010, and happened to get lucky and run into the owner. He told me his helper of 40+ years died, so he closed down the yard. I was looking for MAF sensors, and he let me walk around. i had been there before a few times and already saw that the two buick sections were pretty well picked over. there are a couple boattail rivs. and some older cars with incomplete NH 401's. pretty rough though. they have lots of cadillacs, and other vintage makes/models.
