           I just got off the phone with Doug from the E-town pits. He just won the first round of super pro with his fastest ever and finally in the eights all by hinself-8.93!!!!!Rob C. is back on top as king of the steel headed stage 1 cars with a smokin 9.43. This ought to set a goal for everyone to reach for next year. I am proud to have helped out with both of these cars and look forward to another great year of competition&tomfoolery at the races. :beer
DOUG......... WAYYYYYY TO GO!!!!! Congrats on your 8!! Rob, Great job with getting that Stage 1 into the 9.40s. I think its amazing what you guys are doing with the Stage 1 cast iron headed engines. Take Care
Doug put chute on his car last month when he hit 150mph. He has only used it a few times since because of the word involved with it. He would have been in the 8's earlier but I bet the extra weight and drag of the chute held him back. Congrats Doug It was a long hard summer and fall to finally make it even with the powerglide:grin: Also heard that Willy Wager with the red 71 GS conv went his best ever today with a 10:92:beer
DOUG AND ROB RULE!!!!!!! Way to go guys!    :beer :beer :beer :beer    :blast: :blast: :blast:
U Betcha !! Cole I hope so !! I found the right car . Have the right "DR." Hoping for 9's with a little help from above ! We will see !!:Brow:  :beer :Brow: :TU: C Ya Cole have a great week ! Is it Friday yet ???:gt:
Thanks for the kind words. This was such a great day. :TU: I'm still smiling a few hours later. For the record, I went 8.96@150.35 and 8.94@150.55 in time trials and 8.94@150.90 on an 8.90 dial in first round of Super Pro. I actually made five passes total, two time shots and three rounds of Super Pro. Second round I cut an .090 light to a .158 and caught the guy and lifted to a 9.00@140. Third round was where it got REALLY interesting. I cut an .006 to his .008. Cool right? Wrong! My car hung an INSANE wheelie and I guess it hit the right side wheelie-bar wheel first and hung a right turn with the wheels FOUR FEET IN THE AIR. I had to lift to avoid taking out the Christmas Tree and when I came down I was steering to the left to get the car straightened out. The wheel almost jerked out of my hands and I straightened it out and cruised down the track at 40 mph. Unfortunately, the steering wheel is now cocked at a 45 degree angle and the front end pulls to the right. Oh Well! I'll just have to get the car up to John Csordas' shop and get it on the alignment rack. What's one more thing, right John? Thanks again Everybody!
Dougy! Dougy, sounds like you hit the rift, and from now on, you go on to beat the rest, you go dude! RV
Doug, Congratulations on hitting the 8s!!!!!!!!!!! Great job and effort by all involved. Rob, WOW!!!! 9.43 !! Looks like you dropped the floor out beneath the CAST IRON STAGE ONE crowd again! GREAT JOB!! What MPH and 60ft did your turn? Looks like I have to update my website..again.
Glad you guys did it! Congratulations to you both. Our spy photos caught Doug right after he ran his 8.94 time. Word has it he now needs a bigger helmet:grin:
