Seven weeks ago I contacted "The Parts Place" about headlight bezels for my 70 Skylark. I was told to check back in 4 weeks to see if they were done. At the 4 week point the sales rep said that they were not back yet and to check in once a week. I checked last Monday and they were not done. I called gain today and got some so called manager on the phone who said I was bugging them and that they were canceling my order. I have bought over a 1,000.00 dollars in parts from these clowns and did not deserve the treatment I got. I also ordered a set of tail light lenses that I received that were all broken. There was no packaging in the box just the lenses. They tried to blame it on UPS. I don't care if they are the last Buick parts place on the planet. I will never buy anything from them again!!! Buyer Beware!!!

Unfortunately this has been a problem with them for years. They seem to have a "Holier than Thou" attitude like they're the last place on the planet with parts for a Buick. I bought from them when I first got my car and it was not a pleasant experience and I haven't gone back since.

After the bad reviews ive read , I reluctantly ordered from them few months ago and have several more times, I can say that one of the guys is a straight up tool that I would like to feed him his teeth, but the lady and the other guy ive spoken to where pleasant and very helpful. Just keep in mind they aren't the ones rechroming the bezels so im.sure they are probably getting the runaround from the chrome shop

I personally am not a bridge burner, but after the way they treated me TPP can have there bridge to me back as I will NEVER cross it! That was years ago, and since never really missed them...

They may not be doing the chroming, but to treat customers like that is bad for business. I'd want to talk to the owner about the "tool" in their box. Of course the arrogant dude is probably his/her son.

I bought one item from them a few years ago and didn't have a problem but probably won't buy there again. You should let the owner of the company see this thread! Maybe he might change things if he sees all these Buick guys getting upset!

Tell him to give us a small part for free as a good will gesture! ;)

The last two orders through eBay were pathetic. The first one they sent me the wrong seals altogether, and the last order they sent parts that would not even fit. I ordered 64-5 header caps for a ragtop and they are not the same size as originals.I tried to ask if they sent me 66-7 caps and no one responded. They issued a partial refund on the price and no refund on the shipping with no explanation as to rather or not they made a mistake. If they are this busy, they obviously do not need my money.

It's not that they are "that" busy. It's that they just don't care. it's that simple. Even if they say they care, their action (or inaction) speaks for itself.

As stated prior, I'd copy/paste, or put a link to, this thread on their customer site. Then see what response you get.

The link to their web form that I posted above will allow someone to paste the link to this thread into their comments field.

Call and talk to Joe.. he is the owner, and I am sure he had no idea what is going on out there.. I would be surprised if he did.

For plating, never go thru a middle man.. anyone who calls me these days and wants something plated, I send them directly to that vendor.. I learned that lesson the hard way, I end up being the bad guy because someone else won't deliver a part, or one to my quality requirements.

Exactly what happened here, and yes, some of the phone guys don't realize that you don't get to be a smartass to customers..

But, if you step back, and look at all the parts TPP has made for us that are very nice ( grills, dash bezels, gauge packages, hood tachs, ps brackets ect) and all the parts that are serviceable if not perfectly correct (fan shroud comes to mind) TPP has supplied us and been willing to make parts no one else is interested in.

I hate seeing them badmouthed here. It seems like on the internet, once that train gets rolling, there is no shortage of folks who want to jump on board.

Maybe they deserve it, for bad service or attitude to some of you guys, but I would be remiss no to share my rather vast experience with them.

No vendor is perfect, and I tend to stick with those that are willing to make us parts, especially resto stuff. All of you driving around looking at a mint dash bezel in your 70-72 car should speak up.. they are the only ones that would have made that part..

    Carry on..

Points well made and well taken Jim. Being in the service industry myself, providing a service that cannot be found anywhere else in many cases, if I was a smartass to any customer, I would either be written up or fired. The reason for this is because even though we are the only ones who have this product, we place a high standard on the customer experience. This results in customers raving about our service, going away happy and coming back happily. While I agree with most of what you said above, TPP has nobody to blame but themselves if they decide to not monitor closely enough how their employees interact with customers. I agree it should not turn into a bash session though. I am happy this forum exists nonetheless, to bring these experiences to light.

I second Jim's comment, I purchased AMD radiator support and two front wheel wells and without any problems.

When I got my GS a year ago, it had missing or incorrect detail things. I used TPP probably 4-5 times never without any issues.

I try to buy from OPGI. Have received great parts and excellent customer service (so far). Although, they must get some parts from TPP, as some of my parts have TPP written on them. OPGI is pricey, but for good parts and service it's worth it.

That's too bad they don't treat their customers better, the grille I bought was really nice though.

Have not dealt with them much at all, but the core support I got from them a few months ago was perfect, and no issues at all with service.
